Clint Eastwood to appear at Republican convention tonight

(CBS News) TAMPA, Fla. -- Clint Eastwood will appear at the Republican National Convention this evening, a top Romney official tells CBS News.

The actor - who convention officials have been referring to as a "mystery guest" - is scheduled to speak just before Florida Sen. Marco Rubio in the 10 p.m. ET hour. Mitt Romney will accept the Republican presidential nomination after Rubio speaks.

Eastwood endorsed Romney in early August at an Idaho fundraiser, stating that "the country needs a boost."

Eastwood's appearance during a "halftime in America" Super Bowl ad in February was taken by some as an endorsement of President Obama. Eastwood said at the time he was not affiliated with a candidate.

How very obvious too, that Eastwood doesn't follow what's happening in Washington, or he would KNOW why Obama had problems accomplishing all his plans! When you have a House majority leader, like John Boehner, whose ONLY goal for the entire Congress was to make our President a one term president, INSTEAD OF doing the work they were elected to do, paid to do, and swore their oaths to do, FOR the PEOPLE, instead of their selfish partisan political agenda, accomplishing presidential objectives is impossible! They refused to even pass Obama's JOBS BILL, which even many "r"epublicans(the ones without the REAL money, who vote AGAINST themselves) needed passed. Actually, all those Republicans who broke their oaths of office, SHOULD be IMPEACHED! If Clint Eastwood still had a brain, he would've know all the divisive evils that have been pulled by the Republicans to get rid of our black president, who DARED to be elected!

"ProsperityBeginsIn2012" - YEAH, that is if President Obama is re-elected and can continue the slow but steady recovery process!
Moronic republicans think a snap of the fingers should allow America to recover from the WORST (thank you, George) financial meltdown since the 1930's!
This stuff takes time.

Sorry, Ambivalent11, but anyone with the slightest intelligence level can see the decadence of the Republican party & will vote for the President Obama, who is making PROGRESS happen, rather than the REGRESSIVENESS of republicanism!

Mr. Eastwood is a really great actor, AS WELL as director. I love all of his motion pictures.
Of course, his political leanings are his own personal thing, as well as the fact that his "Hollywood" stature doesn't mean crap as far as his political opinion!
SO WHY is he at the convention at all? Does that have something to do with swaying the people without working brains?

A Libertarian speaking at the GOP convention, and it's Clint??? Oh, this ought to be good! He tells it like it is, even if it makes his hosts feel uncomfortable (Is he really talking about them, or US?).

A lot of nasty comments from the peanut gallery of Obama lovers who have been suckered in. You all wish you were man enough to be Clint. He is a great actor/director and former mayor who knows you can't spend what you don't have.

No, you just run up the budget, and then blame the deficit on the other party! We're still paying Bush's bills, AND the costs for all the CHEAPSKATE millionaires and billionaires who no longer have to pay THEIR SHARE of our country's bills! Now we have to pay THEIR taxes too! WHO is suckered in! Bush's unbudgeted wars and unbudgeted tax cuts for multi-millionaire's is a BIG portion of our current debt. Republicans MADE it, but they want Democrats to PAY it! As usual. Conservatives?? Yah, RIGHT! WORDS only! Just like everything Republicans do. Actions speak louder than words, and you have no history, beside CREATING the debts, to back your words! Now, we have two MORE, PROVEN, big liars running!

play a little Charlie Parker for these republican rubes, clint, and watch em make faces. I think you should make a movie about Huckabee and Bachman. You could call it "Snake Oil and the *****."

all these overcompensating republicans like to think they are or wish they could be just like Clint. They all kind of look like him right now too.
