Rove: Romney "close to a decision" on VP

(CBS News) Former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove said he thinks Mitt Romney is "close to a decision" on his running mate and suggested the announcement "could come as early as Friday", though he added "it's more likely to come next week."

"We could get one on Friday because they've got a bus tour announced for four days in key battleground states that starts on Saturday," Rove said during an interview with Fox News Tuesday.

"My gut tells me though that it's more likely to come next week. I think Romney is going to spend this bus tour laying out ... the grassroots plan that he laid out last week, called the 'Plan for the Middle Class.' I think he's going to try to give that some depth and substance."

"But who knows? I think he's close to a decision. He is clearly being very serious in his approach to this. My gut tells me that it's going to come a little bit later than this week, but it could come as early as Friday," Rove added.

When asked who he thought Romney would choose, he said he wouldn't hazard a guess, especially given his unsuccessful track record of not being able to predict past nominees Sarah Palin, Joe Biden, Dick Cheney and Joe Lieberman.

VP has very little impact on who votes for President. In Romneys case he is not very well liked by many republicans so he may try to get a boost from whoever he picks.

It means people would rather have man that his dog to roof of car than have Obama as President.

I appreciate knowing who buys our government and to what extent you help facilitate its sale. - Thank you

Romney is sounding more and more like Richard Nixon "I am not a crook" every day. He hides his tax returns, lies about Obama's record, and embarrasses the US on an international scale with his recent fiasco of a visit to the Olympics in London. WHO CARES who his running mate is? That poor sap is doomed to Sarah Palin-type of reputation!!

If you look at who is positioning themselves on the sidelines of the Romney campaign, you'll quickly understand the direction this candidate wants to take the U.S. The "Karl Roves" and "Dick Cheneys" are salivating just imagining how well their selfish, insanely conservative interests will be protected and promoted with a Romney election. "Creepy" characters like the Koch brothers and Adelson have already prepared their bills and will expect payment in full, while the lobbyists on K Street are directly affiliated with the Romney campaign as advisers and staffers....( I suppose it's unrealistic to think they'll be promoting their master's biddings )....and several major corporations are lining up at the feeding trough should Mitt be elected. The only people and interests Romney will not be serving are the American people and what directly concerns and affects them.

Business as usual....the republican way.

Exactly. Let's put back in office the very people who threw America off an economic-cliff back in 2008! No thanks!

This announcement should be made at the beginning of all campaigns. That way the sheeple know from the start who they are considering. It ain't rocket science.
