Romney: Obama trip to Colorado "right thing" to do

(CBS News) In the aftermath of Friday's mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado, Mitt Romney on Sunday put politics aside, offering President Obama a rare word of praise for his actions surrounding the tragedy.

On Friday, 12 people were killed and 58 were injured when a gunman opened fire on audience members at a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises," the latest movie in the Batman franchise, in Colorado.

After a moment of silence at the fundraising event in San Francisco, Romney mentioned Mr. Obama's trip to Colorado, where the president visited victims of the shooting. Romney said he thought that was "the right thing for the President to be doing on this day. I appreciate that."

He said, too, that his remarks at the fundraiser would be less politically partisan than they might otherwise have been, considering the circumstances.

"I will note that my remarks here today will not be as partisan as normal," he continued.

"We obviously have heavy hearts. It is a reminder of loss, a loss of young minds and youthful voices and souring spirits lost senselessly and thoughtlessly," he said. "We turn to a power greater than our own to understand purpose and if not to understand at least to be able to soothe the wounds of those who have been so seriously hurt."

The right thing for Mitt Romney to do is to release his tax returns and to explain how his signature got on documents send to the SEC as late as 2002 if he resigned from Bain in 1999 as he claims.

Oh, and we are all so overjoyed to hear that he thinks so. Geez, what an idiot.

He's an idiot? His comments were made in reaction to a question from someone in the media who specifically asked if he thought the president was using the trip to CO to score political points. So Romney's not the idiot...the guy who asked the question is. Oh, and so are you for just shooting off your mouth while basking in a cloak of pure ignorance.

YES, the owner of any business makes a conscious decision about where its maufacturing takes place. And they frequently send it off shore because of cheaper labor.

How can you possibly believe that a man who is the sole owner of a company does NOT make that decision. You're deluding yourself and trying to shame others.
