Giffords "horrified" by Colorado shooting

Giffords Kelly Tweet Aurora Twitter

Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who is recovering from wounds sustained during a January 2011 shooting spree in her Arizona district, was "horrified" to hear about the mass shootings in Aurora, Colorado overnight, according to a Tweet from her husband, Mark Kelly.

"Gabby and I were horrified to hear of the tragedy in Colorado last night," Kelly wrote. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families."

Giffords resigned from Congress in January to focus on her recovery.

If we would just have the government do what it is supposed to and protects it's citizens instead of giant corporations, we could have a real country.

I wonder if the shooter was listening to Bill O'Reilly on Fox Propaganda Channel or Rush Limbaugh urging people to go our and kill progressive terrorists or abortion doctors.

I would like to know if any of the fire arms from the Colo. shooting came from Barack and Eric Holder's authoriztions. Oh Exec Privey guess we will never know.

It's funny how this happens right before the signing of the UN small arms treaty next Friday and Obama even canceled his campaign to get political about it, when every day there are multiple shootings in Chitcago and he never says a word about blacks shooting people.

Tragedies like last night's movie theater shooting are just the sort of thing that the gun-banners have been waiting to exploit.

They will use this tragedy -- and others like it -- to call for "action."

The signing of the UN Small Arms Treaty next Friday,

If passed by the UN and ratified by the U.S. Senate, the UN Small Arms Treaty would almost certainly FORCE the U.S. to:

*** Enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding Americans cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to own a firearm legally;

*** CONFISCATE and DESTROY ALL "unauthorized" civilian firearms (all firearms owned by the government are excluded, of course);

*** BAN the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons;

*** Create an INTERNATIONAL gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun CONFISCATION.

Leave it to Obama to allow the UN to dictate policy to the USA. Remember when Clinton allowed our troops to be commanded by Pakistanis? Black Hawk Down?

Get a grip.

Do you honestly think any of the Mexican drug cartels would just give a few of their weapons to some nobody at a university in Colorado?

Anything to try to politicize this, right? You're REALLY reaching here.
