McDonnell blasts Obama campaign on Bain

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Virginia Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell on Friday accused President Obama's reelection team of waging a "campaign of division and misrepresentation" in advance of the Obama's visit to the state.

McDonnell, who is hosting the National Governors Association meeting in Williamsburg, was specifically referring to recent attacks by the Obama campaign that Bain Capital outsourced jobs while Republican nominee Mitt Romney was at the firm's helm.

McDonnell, a frequent Romney campaign surrogate who has been mentioned as a possible vice presidential nominee, said the argument was "dishonest" because Romney had left to head the Salt Lake City Olympics and that the Obama campaign ads should be pulled.

"To the degree that there is any truth to these sorts of outsourcing allegations, they happened after 1999 when he was not the managing director," McDonnell said. "It's a reckless way of campaigning."

McDonnell clarified at a later event that not all of Romney's Bain record is off-limits, but that he believes latching on to that particular piece is unfair.

Asked about whether or not Romney should release a fuller version of his tax returns, as many Democrats have demanded, McDonnell answered: "It's not Mitt Romney's tax returns people are concerned about, it's their own tax returns."

truth hurts did he leave bane in 20th or 21 century? the difference between a lie and a truth and if its true then No apology is owed that means if Mitt was the CEO after the turn of the century then he was in charge of what became an outsourceing company and got tax breaks for shipping jobs out of the country.. case closed.. IF he was not the man that signed the OK to ship jobs then that is the fact just like the chief justice pronounced the affordable health care act a tax to make it constitutional in his eyes..

It amazes me how stupid the Romney campaign thinks the American people are. As an Independent, it is obvious he is either hiding something or has boxed himself in a corner with lies that the recent SEC documents substantiate. I will vote for Obama, I know what he is about, but Romney is a big smoke and mirrors cloud who will not verbalize to the American people what he will do, how he will do it and Exactly what he stands for. I have not heard him verbalize ONE thing that he will do, NOT ONE. Plus, I am p*ssed at this do nothing Congress. They have made this recession worse, lasting longer, making more uncertainty for the business segment and the American people. They act like 3rd graders or less! I am a registered nurse, not a political science major, if I can see it, so can everyone else except the Republican base that votes their social issues only. God help us if Romney wins.

If the Obama campaign keeps harping on the fact that Romney has not/will not turn over all his tax returns; Romney should bring up the back-door deals Obama made to get Obamacare passed, ask why Obama spent $1 million dollars to keep his birth certificate, college transcripts, why he has the Social Security of a dead man in Connecticut, lost his licence to practice law and his 9 different passports claiming he is a citizen of all these countries long before he became President.

As for Bain; Romney should ask Obama why GE he supported GE and GE contributed very generously to his campaign; and a few month later moved out of the country.

If you put all of the politicians in Washington (Boeher, Pelosi in particular) in a paper bag, closed the bag and shook it, then dumped it out; they would all fall out at the same time.

Obama, the Democrooks and the Republicooks have created so many crises for the people of the US; I'm almost afraid to see November come.

Once again, voters will have to choose between evil and more evil.

Congress has completely dismissed the fact that this country is supposed to be a government "of the people, by the people for the people".

And; Obama has spent the last 3 1/2 years trying to destroy the Constitution and Bill of Rights, using our tax money to bail out crooks in Wall Street, banks, Unions, mortgage lenders etc. ; and driving the country so deep in debt our great-grandchildre will be responsibe for paying it.!

Now that the election is drawing near; Obama is spending his time trying to do everything he should have been doing for the last 3 1/2 years in less than 5 months.
