Mitt Romney and Republicans were quick to react to comments President Obama made Thursday in an interview with CBS News' Charlie Rose.
Reflecting on his first years in office, Mr. Obama said that his biggest mistake has been putting policy over storytelling.
"When I ran everybody asked, well he can give a good speech, but can he actually manage the job? And in my first two years, I think the notion was, he's been juggling and managing a lot of stuff, but where's the story that tells us where he's going?" he said.

"I think that was a legitimate criticism."
In response, Romney criticized the president's leadership.
"President Obama believes that millions of Americans have lost their homes, their jobs and their livelihood because he failed to tell a good story. Being president is not about telling stories. Being president is about leading, and President Obama has failed to lead. No wonder Americans are losing faith in his presidency," he said in a statement.
A spokesperson for the Republican National Committee was also quick to pounce on Mr. Obama's comments, telling reporters in an emailed statement, "With 23 million people struggling under our slow economy, the decision for voters isn't 'can the president tell a good story,' it's 'can the president create jobs.'"

Yes, in this highly-polarized and deeply partisan country, we are so divided on every issue, that we have little chance of survival as a constitutional republic unless there is a true bi-partisan attempt at fixing our many problems, but this seems like a fantasy today.
With a completely dysfunctional group of congresscritters, and a SCOTUS that decides for BIG BIZ over WE THE PEOPLE almost 100% of the time, the president today is merely a figurehead damned if he does and damned if he doesn't -- and won't be able to please more than half of the American electorate.
Our many problems cannot be fixed in the short-term, and those Americans that just want to keep using the same old scapegoats without even admitting the root causes of our predicament, will be the impediment of our recovery and the continued destruction of our republic.
Very true, but "chevette" continues to post ridiculous JFK quotes day in and day out, to support his GOP "supply-side economic insanity," when in fact it was demand-side tax cuts lowering the top marginal rate from 91% down to 77%......something that needed to be done after the WWII debt was paid down.
You're absolutely correct that we cannot compare our 1960s economy with this 21st century mess of 30+ years of "supply-side economic insanity" that has just grown our deficits and debt -- especially since we have the lowest tax rates in the post-depression era which has decreased our federal revenue to the point of severity.
While mitt romney continues to push for bush policies on steroids by more deregulation and more tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy, it is obvious MORE OF THE SAME will not benefit the middle class!
As was posted earlier.....Again, ask yourself this question:
What do you really think caused firms to lay off so many workers that unemployment jumped from 4.4% in May 2007 to 10% in October 2009 (remaining at 8.2% today), a sudden spike in business regulations and taxes, or a collapse in demand?

In light of mitt romney's curious shell corporation in Bermuda, quietly transferred to his wife's name to avoid disclosure laws, ABC News ran an item yesterday with a needlessly provocative headline designed to get far-right links: "On Obama Adviser's Disclosure Form: 'Bermuda.'"
Naturally, it had the intended effect, with republicans pouncing on the notion that Valerie Jarrett engages in offshore investments in Bermuda, just like the GOP presidential candidate. Hypocrisy! Scandal! OMG tweets! LOL!
Indeed, right on cue, the story was quickly picked up by National Review, Free Republic, Lucianne.com, Michelle Malkin's Twitter feed, various talk radio Web sites, and many more.

Just more proof of the rabid hatred of the "birthers, baggers and buffoons," parroting a false story full of lies in their usual blog regurgitation!
They probably should have read the ABC report past the headline, but the rabid right haters don't want to know the truth.
"It appears that Jarrett borrowed money from JPMorgan Chase, which has a subsidiary in Bermuda -- not unusual for insurance companies that want to lay off some of their risks. It doesn't mean that Jarrett sought any sort of transaction from Bermuda, but rather that the bank could be using its Bermuda subsidiary on credit forms".
No wonder every study shows that the fox/rush parrots continue to be the most misinformed partisan hacks in America!
If a man does a great and good deed, and his birth certificate says he is from Ping Pong, the deed is just as great and good. His place of birth, in no way, affects the impact of his deed be it good or bad. It will be what it is. Further, there are many whose birth certificate's read the United States of America, yet they have done nothing but bopp on an overstuffed sofa day in and day out, remote control in hand, playing Monday night quarterback and throwing stones at everybody else.
You do not realize (especially if you refuse to work), that in the private sector, a CEO of a big company cannot get away with explaining utter failure by blaming it on his predecessor. Lame. Grow up, Obamabots, and face reality. Obama is one and done, stick a fork in it!
Obama's lucky he got elected for a 4 yr term. That's why he crammed healthcare and didn't focus on the economy. The dems knew they have one term and one term only to get the job done.
ROUNDS COOKING OFF
The Democrats have this "enemies list" --- denominated in epithets and insults aimed at the people whose wallets they wish to hijack and take up residence inside. You can be a "Racist!" and you can be a "Terrorist!" and you can be a "Dictator" and you can be a "Hostage-taker!" and you can "Wear a tinfoil hat!" and you can be a "Homophobe!" and you can be a "Teabagger!" --- a homosexual man taking his partner's scrotum into his mouth. You can be "Selfish!" and you can be a "Wacko!" and you can be a "Hick!" and you can be a "Rube!" and you can be "Uneducated" and you can be an "Extremist!" You can be a "Right-wing-nut!" and you can be "Mentally Ill" and you can be "Deranged!" and you can be a "Flake!" and you can be a "Warmonger!" and you can be "Unenlightened!" and you can be a "FatCat!" and you can be a "Greedy!" member of the productive class, and you can be a "Nazi!" and you can be a "Fascist!" --- although no one more closely approaches the precise description of "Nazi!" or "Fascist!" than the usual Democrat propagandist --- either official, or self-appointed.
Lies, after all, are the heart and soul and the sword and shield of the Democrat party.
So all you have to do to occupy multiple epithets on the Democrats' enemies list is to insist that they take their hands off yourself, off your wallet, off your property, off your kids, off your diet, off your healthcare, off your household appliances, off your car, off your bank account, off your weapons of self-defense, off your liberty, and off your freedom of speech. Insist on all these good things - and that qualifies you to be spat upon by nasty, mean-spirited scum --- by The Friends of All Mankind --- by a gang of lying, thieving, dope-smoking, pill-popping, coke-snorting, sticky-fingered, bloodsxcking, tax-eating, gun-stealing, predatory humanitarian hoodlums, thugs and gangsters --- by the Democrat party, in other words. No political party in the history of America more profoundly deserves absolute and outright destruction.
