Report: Romney debate prep has begun

(CBS News) It's never too early to start preparing for a big event. At least that's what Mitt Romney and his campaign are thinking as they reportedly made time recently to prepare for this fall's presidential debates, which are still three months away.

Romney sources told the New York Daily News that President Obama's Republican rival found some time during his Park City, Utah retreat last month to work through a couple of rounds of "debate prep."

The Daily News described the prep as sorting "through a variety of topics sure to come up in the three Presidential debates, like the state of the economy and the war in Afghanistan."  The newspaper reported that aides "kicked around the best 'test responses' to questions they expect Obama and debate moderators will toss at" Romney.

More of these sessions are expected over the summer, reports the Daily News. The traditional "podium practices," when someone stands in for Mr. Obama, reportedly won't happen for awhile.

There are three presidential debates scheduled: Oct. 3 in Denver, Oct. 16 in Hempstead, N.Y., and Oct. 22 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Actually zann, I disagree, since the GOP proved it could be done in 2008, by taking the most uninformed bozo about both foreign and domestic policies, and made HER look fairly intelligent with just memorization of canned answers!

And again, the republicans prove that they can even teach a monkey to spit out canned answers in a debate to look informed, since they did it in 2008, and I'll betcha $10,000, they can do it in 2012 as well. LOL!

That's a lot of memorization for Romney, as his his advisers tell him what to say about every issue. He doesn't memorize very well, as we've seen when he simply refuses to answer questions about things he should have studied already. However, when he remember what he's been told to say, his delivery is acceptable... but not equal to Obama's delivery of improvised remarks.

Get real. Compared to Obama, Romney is a moron. The debates will be no contest.

That's why they needed to start this early with the mittster, since caribou barbi was much better at memorization, and the republicans actually showed how good they can be with canned answers in 2008!

Yep, the nations largest employer, Wal-Mart, has the highest percentage of the working poor that earn so little that they pay no taxes and qualify for food stamps, Medicaid and housing assistance.
What should they do to keep the rich from suffering a 2% tax increase that would reduce our deficits, save Social Security, Medicare, and our local governments???????

President Obama is the odds on favorite, if it were a prize fight bet, no one would take a bet because the odds would be off the charts.

Mitt better get a good sparing partner, someone that is logical and good at debate. If he figures he can tap dance around the issues, the people moderating the debates will nail his foot to the floor.

Exactly! But the GOP did a good job in 2008 for the VP debate, and even made an uninformed bozo look fairly intelligent after coaching!

OK, Bishop................
Don't talk about the economic crisis, and stock market crash, under Bush, and the Obama recovery.
Don't talk about the cult of Mormon and your 2 years in the French wine country as a "missionary" to avoid Vietnam.
Don't talk about universal health care in Mass. whatever you do!!
Don't talk about offshoring jobs, offshore bank accounts, your 2011 income taxes, your Daddy being born in a Mexican polygamy colony, or your opinion on a "tax" vs. a "fee".

In fact, Bishop, you should just drop out now, and give your campaign funds to the Chris Christie Weight Loss Centers.

- Do talk about how corporations are people too.
- Do talk about how to evade taxes with offshore shell companies.
- Do talk about how to drive a company into bankruptcy while handsomely profiting from it.
- Do talk about how to make a stronger America by outsourcing good paying jobs to China and India.
