Despite calls to move on, Obama talks health care

(CBS News) President Obama said it in his immediate response to last week's Supreme Court decision upholding his health care law:

"What we won't do -- what the country can't afford to do -- is refight the political battles of two years ago, or go back to the way things were," the president said on June 28. "With today's announcement, it's time for us to move forward."

And he repeated that sentiment Thursday on his campaign bus tour, telling an audience in Sandusky, Ohio, "We don't need to reargue the last two years."

So much for moving forward.

In response to a question from a reporter at Cincinnati's WLWT, the president used health care as an example of his Republican rival Mitt Romney playing politics by calling the individual mandate a tax.

"[T]he fact that a whole bunch of Republicans in Washington suddenly said, this is a tax -- for six years he said it wasn't, and now he has suddenly reversed himself," Mr. Obama said. "So the question becomes, are you doing that because of politics? Are you abandoning a principle that you fought for, for six years simply because you're getting pressure for two days from Rush Limbaugh or some critics in Washington?"

CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Norah O'Donnell contributed to this report.

Any of you Obama haters have a pre existing condition? How about an adult child younger than 26 unable to get their own health coverage? Any of you at the limits of your health coverage therefore elgible to be dropped by your health care provider?

President Obama's affordable health care act fixes those things and others. What are republicans offering in its place? Not a damn thing that helps average Americans.

You can always tell when someone is incapable of arguing the logic of a comment. They attack the spelling and grammer.

Notice to conservatives: try to lose gracefully this time. You've been an embarrassment to the nation.

You are asking the POTUS not to answer direct questions on the subject ?? Or was it that you failed to even read the article above ?? DUmb Dumb Repugs !!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Actually, Parrot, nowhere does it say the reporters question was on health care. It says Obama used health care as an example when anwering the question which pretty much tells you the question was not about health care. You need to pay better attention to what you read.

What I didn't realize is that Obamacare is loaded full of tax increases, like an increase in capital gains taxes, an increase in taxes on dividends, an increase in payroll taxes, etc....
So this legislation is a big tax increase on the middle-class. Another Obama election pledge out the window. Can't believe anything this man says anymore.

PS - Another pathetic jobs report just released. Way to go, Obama.

If you only understood the magnitude of what you don't realize. Vote conservative: you won't stand out as uninformed, you'll blend in.

Obama, 28 June 2012: "The debate is over, let's move on."
Obama, 6 days later: "I feel continuing the debate on this particular point will benefit my campaign so let's continue the debate."

Obama, The epitome of hypocrisy.

No doubt the democrats don't want him to talk about "health care". Americans don't want Obamacare. It will be a fraud filled big out of control federal program that will add to the RECORD Obama deficit. I'd run away from it too if I were running for any office.
