Obama camp hits Romney/Murdoch secret meeting

Parliamentary committee blasts Rupert Murdoch

WASHINGTON (CBS News) - Obama Campaign adviser David Axelrod took to Twitter this morning to ask why the press let Mitt Romney hold a secret meeting with Fox News magnate Rupert Murdoch.

"How long does media let Mitt get away w/out pool coverage," tweeted Axelrod after noting that the "world only learned from Rupert's tweet" about Murdoch's meeting with Romney last week.

The same might be asked of the press that covers the White House and the Obama campaign, which so far this year has been barred from any coverage of 25 Obama campaign fundraising events. Most of them amount to private sessions with supporters contributing as much as $50,000 per person to the Obama Victory Fund.

Axelrod well knows that White House and campaign officials determine what events the press is permitted to cover. Often, as in the case of the Romney meeting with Murdoch, the press is not even informed of the get-together. That is frequently the case at the White House, where many events are not posted on the president's public schedule.

For example, on the flight back to Washington from Colorado Springs on Friday, President Obama took part in a conference call with supporters from aboard Air Force One. No notice was given to the press nor was the press pool aboard the presidential aircraft invited to cover the remarks he made as part of an urgent appeal for contributions.

The conference call only became public when reported by Lloyd Grove the next evening on The Daily Beast website, quoting from a recording he acquired of Mr. Obama's campaign outreach.

So when David Axelrod questions why the press assigned to cover the Romney Campaign let the candidate "get away" with a secret meeting with Rupert Murdoch, Axelrod knows the answer. From personal experience.

Give me a break. Rmoney has been hiding from the media for months. Somebody who only appears on Fox "News" doesn't have the b*lls to face hard questions. And when he lowers himself to appear on "real" networks, the interviewers let him get away with lies and half truths. I don't know who's worse, Rmoney for lying or the media for not calling him on it.

I see it all the time that President Obama represents the middle class and the poor. What do you think the Recovery Act was for? What do you think the American car industry help was for? It was for the workers who all needed jobs and kept their jobs. It was for all the job creation that is going on in the car industry. The Recovery Act created and saved thousand of jobs in every state. Republicans have opposed everything that would help the middle class and the poor and they are back at it with their agenda against the Affordable Care Act which does cover the middle class with subsidies and the poor with Medicare coverage. That is of course if any of these sorry rabidly extreme republican governors participate. It looks as though if they chose not to as most sorry republican governors are their states won't get the Medicare funding for the poor or the subsidies for the middle class who need it.

Mark Knoller is a conservative and his reporting is biased that way. Anyhow, he never did answer the question that Mr. Axelrod asked on Twitter. "Why the press let Mitt Romney hold a secret meeting with Fox News magnate Rupert Murdoch?"

TO: Rupert Murdoch,

IT'S CALLED FREEDOM OF THE PRESS; IDIOT.

The Obama Camp has a heart as as big as a gnats ass.!

I mean; it's not like Obama hasn't used this ruse in the past.

If it weren't for a President who lied through his teeth 50 times a day, took part in all sorts of back-door deals and bribed Congressmen and Senators to get his way and tried to intimidate the Supreme Court WE WOULDN"T BE IN THIS MESS.!!!

Add to that a CORRUPT CONGRESS and immediately get an answer to "WHY"
the United States is almost as broken as the governmennt.

The main goal of these crooks is to force the United States to change its form of government so they have complete control over every American.

Obama hopes to change things enough that he can "rule" the United States, and the Congress (especially the Repugnantcans) want us to become citizens of the 1% of AMERICA.

To even bring this up; knowing full well the "Obama Camp is full of treachery and lies, make me question where Axlerod keeps his brain.

Maybe he sits on it to keep it warm.!

Why did they have to meet in the shadows?

Has Rupert's team been able to wire tape or hack into Obama's HQ or the White House? Information for sale?

Has Rupert's team been able to wire tape or hack into Romney's HQ or personal life? Information to keep out of the press?

Either way Rupert is peddling more that news papers here. Romney is turning out to be a candidate without a direction of his own. He appears to be told what, where and how to behave by the likes of Murdoch, Trump, Lingaugh, Norquest or any interest that shouts the loudest.

Many people seem to be missing the point of the story. It is not about who Romney is meeting with or who Obama is meeting with. It is aobut Obama hyprocacy. Criticising others for doing the same thing you do.

There is nothing hypocritical about having official private fundraising events, that has been going on since the beginning of politics. Having unofficial secretive meetings with the likes of Rupert Murdoch is a BIG deal and reflects poor judgement. Your bias is undeniable.

Why is it that you guys do not cover all of Obama's meetings with Soros and the Union heads, who wrote the health care bill, and other Faaaaaar left groups. Why is it that you want to talk about those who don't seem to be close to Romney when you don't agree with them and mention none of the commies that our President has hired in the White House? Why haven't you gone after this President for his enemies list? Why haven't you continued after this Prez for his anti American statement and his and his friends bigoted references? Why is it that anyone who disagrees with this President and is angry with him for his constant attempts to divide Americans against each other? He pits white against black, rich against poor, Mexican against other hispanics, women against men, children against parents....all of the things that occurred in Germany at the beginning of wwII. He is bent on the destruction of America as a great country with your help. He is a radical leftist with anarchists for friends for crying out loud.

This is exactly what Muchoch did in the UK. He would meet with the candidate discuss what he would be willing to support and then if he approved he would have his newspaper support the candidate.

This is disgusting. Do you really want an old Aussie influencing American politics?

All you have to do is take a look at Murdoch's actions in the UK. If he could pull off what he did the UK then he could have done as well in the States.

The difference is that Murdock has as much to do with the news as a pedophile has to do with children. Just as a pedophile pretends to care about a child, Murdock is the media arm of the Republican party pretending to be a news organization.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++And MSNBC is the media arm of the DNC so I guess they are even, except FOX News actually has an audience.
