Rick Perry says he will give 2016 presidential bid "a good examination"

Texas Governor Rick Perry bowed out of the 2012 Republican presidential contest in January, but he's already considering a 2016 bid.

In an interview with the Dallas-Fort Worth CBS station on Wednesday night, Perry said he was "certainly going to give" running for president in 2016 "a good examination."

"It sounds like you're really interested?" asked reporter Jack Fink.

"Yeah, I am. I love this country. As long as my health stays good, as it is, and my family is supportive, I'm certainly going to give it a good - good examination," Perry said.

If he does run, though, the Texas Republican said he would do some things differently.

"I learned a lot about running for the presidency of the United States," Perry told Fink. "One is, get in early. You know, I didn't want to do this. This was not on my radar screen. And I think it was reflected in how we were prepared and how we performed and what have you. "

Perry entered the Republican presidential race in August of 2011 - months after most candidates had already made their presidential intentions clear.

"2016 is way down the road," Perry added. "But I'll assure you one thing. If I decide to run for the presidency in 2016, I'll be in way before the summer of 2016, or 2015 even."

"Preparation for a major job can't start just a few weeks before the job interview begins. It's gotta start way before that," he added.

The longtime Texas Governor has not yet announced whether or not he will run for re-election as governor in 2014, but on Wednesday night he said his "instincts are very positive towards it" currently.

"I'm certainly going to give that the appropriate consideration," Perry said, when asked if he will run for re-election. "My instincts are very positive towards it right now, but we'll wait until after the legislative session to make that announcement."

no one knows as of today, who will win this november. no one knows who will win in 2016. as for perry or santorum, they do have their supporters but there aren't enough of those supporters for either to win an election. the perry and santorum speeches during this current campaign season have been archived, including videos, and they will resurface to haunt them should they decide to run again.

For a man who thinks God speaks to him, he really must be not hearing the message clearly. What God actually said was: "Rick, you're pressing it." But, you know men don't really know how to listen even when She is speaking.
