Obama team slams Romney, Walker on women's issues

Amid continued Democratic charges that Republicans are waging a "war against women," President Obama's re-election campaign is zeroing in on Mitt Romney for allying with Republican Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin -- who just repealed an employment discrimination law.

Walker, the highly-polarizing governor who's facing a recall election this summer, signed a bill on Thursday limiting the legal recourse for victims of employment discrimination. The measure was one of several bills Walker signed Thursday that Democrats cast as hostile to women.

Wisconsin is expected to be competitive in this year's presidential election, especially in light of the current political environment there. The recall election against Walker has mobilized partisans from both sides.

Last week, ahead of Wisconsin's Republican primary, Romney repeatedly noted his support for Walker. While visiting a pro-Walker phone banking operation in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, Romney called Walker "an extraordinary man" whose "convictions are focused on the interests of the people of Wisconsin."

Today, Obama campaign spokeswoman Lis Smith said in a statement that the bill Walker signed Thursday "showed how far Republicans are willing to go to undermine not only women's health care, but also their economic security."

"Mitt Romney has repeatedly dismissed the effect of Republican efforts to roll back access to contraception and other health care services on the women's vote, saying that he would appeal to women by talking about their economic concerns," Smith continued. "If this is the case does Romney think women should have ability to take their bosses to court to get the same pay as their male coworkers? Or does he stand with Governor Walker against this?"

The Romney campaign did not respond immediately to a request for comment.

Romney's alliance with Walker ahead of the primary -- which Romney won -- wasn't surprising, given Walker's strong approval rating among Wisconsin Republicans. The relationship may become more complicated, however, heading into the general election.

While Mr. Obama's re-election campaign was slamming the Walker-Romney alliance, Mr. Obama today touted the pro-woman agenda at a White House forum on women and the economy.

I've read the article and all the comments and I think there's many wars, and Yes there is a "War against Women." Hillary Clinton ran for President but dropped out. Sarah Palin was planning on running for President, what ever happened to that. Are women fit to run the country? I know what the Bible says about men and women. But Jesus treated everyone equally, and so should we.

Obama only cares about women's votes. Women care about good jobs, the economy, being able to afford to put food on the table and gas in their cars.

As a single mother I am struggling with the high gas and food prices. Why isn't Obama doing something about the economy? I am NOT better off now than I was four years ago and that will be how I vote!

I guess you missed Republican Representative Richard Hanna (R-N.Y.) instructing those that were serious about supporting women's issue to contribute to DEMOCRATS. I guess you also missed three Republican Senators, Murkowski, Hutchinson and Snowe that agree with Obama that Republicans are foolishly waging a war on women.

I sincerely believe that I have provided legitimate factual examples and provided rational questions for anyone to refute with evidence of their own. The Tea Party Baggers cannot refute my assertions that there is a war on women. They haven't come up with one fact! Instead they have tried to deflect their lack of knowledge with insults and hyperbole. Do not be fooled by these Far Right ignorant people. They don't have any truths to support their viewpoints. None. Reread their posts and see yourself , there are no legitimate insightful debate points. Nothing. They are too damn lazy to learn or spend a second to google anything I wrote. These Tea Party people are too damn lazy. This is what the GOP supporters are all about. They spew lies and propaganda.

Time has prevented me from writing anymore. It is late in the UK and I am off. I'm sure the JL, ZR and the Gansta's are very happy because they can continue with their lies and insults without me coming in and proving them wrong. Every naughty child hates being corrected and so do JL, ZR and Gansta. So read carefully. Who is telling the truth? The posts with the insults and wild opinions or the ones with lists of factual examples that are simple to verify (it might take a couple of seconds to google ).

Please read Gansta's posts. Wow. Just two of them is enough to rest my case. The Tea Party supporters are nuts. And they say there is no racism. And now they say there is no War On Women. I give you Gansta and look for naksuthin , the Christian Taliban. Enough said. Good night. And bye for now. But I will continue posting my list of examples until one of these damn Far Right nutcases actually decides to debate me on facts like an intelligent mature rationale person.

My don't you wag your own long tail in your hubris and delusions of intellectual superiority.

Debate what? Your lies and skewed information and facts and re-written history you pull out of your progressive and radical left wing books and websites. You also do quite a bit of improvising on your own. Who wants to waste their time debunking that when it debunks itself without any help from the right.

If you have seen and listened to one lying Obama, you seen and heard them all.
One of your many problems is, you like Obama, take yourself far too seriously and that will always be your down fall.

JL-Conway I was taught a long time ago never to bother arguing with liars fools and drunks.

And you still not going to prove that I'm a liar?

Damn you are low!! How easily it must be for you to try to insult me but you just can't prove your assertions. Call me a lair but can't won't prove it.

Instead by your lack of action, you have proven over and over agin how the Tea Baggers won't educate, run from facts and evidence and spew falsehoods and hyperbole. You could stay all day and argue with me? Yeah right! Argue with what? Again, you are typical of the Tea Party blowing raspberries and name calling. Not once have you addressed my points, refuted my facts and proved your own evidence. Because you won't and I believe can't you and your ilk have lost this argument. There is a War on Women and you can't prove otherwise. I stand proud while you have failed.

Your writing and refusing to provide concrete evidence against my points are so frickin typical of all Tea Parter baggers. Hot air with nothing to say.

Back again to whine and moan and to monopolize this site with your
personal vendetta.

Boo! Boo! someone put me straight but I'm too childish and immature to shut up and bow out gracefully.
You remind us all of that Obama getting put in his place and his pal Eric Holder having to write a letter for him like his mommie.

I love beating a dead horse and like a hypocrite throwing insults and using foul language which is charateristic of the losers on the left with no manners or class.
Go away for crying out loud!

Go ahead prove me wrong.

Again, you can't.

Hey, KPeter-Rabbit,
Stop hogging the entire site with your belly aching.

The Democrats and the left only exploit women for their votes and are the ones who truly hate women and motherhood since they are constantly encouraging them to kill their unborn children.
Not because of freedom of choice but for population control like their vile hero Margret Sanger lay the groundwork did.

She was a racist and hated people who had large families and was a friend of Hitler who embraced his ideology of ethnic purity and cleansing.

She even neglected her own gravely ill son while visiting Hitler and died. The Dems and left still hand out the Margret Sanger Award to women on the left like Hillary Clinton.

The left has never been for women's rights like they have never been for anyone who wasn't an elistist like them.
Obama proves this every day of his failed presidency.

Pure hogwash. KPeters isn't the ONLY person who thinks that the Republicans are waging "war" on women. Even my very apolitical sister is up in arms over the types of legislation that is being passed in Republican controlled states and is engaged in political activism in order to keep the Republicans from turning back the social clock 60 - 70 years with their agenda. More and more women are joining the fray and will send a loud and clear message to the men of the Republican and conservative "Christian" ilk that they will NOT be crushed underfoot again.
Gansta_Hoodie_Dems replies:

Sure, Just you and the 10% of left wingers and only the far left radical Dems in this country. That's not going to be enough to get this antagonist and divisive bum re-elected.

You progressives forget that The Right and GOP have women and their around half of the voters in this country who don't buy your lie of The War on Women. He can't win on that platform with the rest of his pitiful record tied to his neck dragging him down.
That is the mistake Obama you are making with your tunnel vision and narrow view of the entire big picture.
You'll find out the hard way come election day.

"A Wisconsin law that made it easier for victims of wage discrimination to have their day in court was repealed on Thursday, after Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) quietly signed the bill.

The 2009 Equal Pay Enforcement Act was meant to deter employers from discriminating against certain groups by giving workers more avenues via which to press charges. Among other provisions, it allows individuals to plead their cases in the less costly, more accessible state circuit court system, rather than just in federal court."

And the coward signed it quietly, hoping no one would know.

Sure there isn't any War on Women.
That is the best lie!!

So you are saying that Walker's law will not hurt women's wages? Really? Have you read it? What part of the making it harder for women who have been paid low to have their day in court did you not comprehend?

Prove that this piece of horrifying law will not hurt women.

Because there is no difference between you, ZR, Realitybites, Mortar, Stomer, etc. You people are like stubborn teenagers. Happy and arrogant in ignorance. And yes, I'm ticked off. I refuse to allow your ilk to call me a liar. I refuse to allow Tea Baggers to spew wild accusations and falsehoods and it ticks me off that you people can't rebuttal with rationale, with facts.

You run and hide from the facts. It is like you suddenly appear, throw an insult, faced with facts you then run back and hide. Then the process happens all over again. Run out throw insults. Run back and hide.

So JL, man up. Do some research. Give me some facts!! Prove that I'm wrong. Can't do it can you?

There is NO WAR ON WOMAN
Conservatives, unlike liberals, want to uphold the sanctity of women

God did not intend to create woman equal to a man. Woman was created after man...and came from man. Woman was created to be a "help mate" to man...not an equal, not a boss.

naksuthin,
And want makes you different from the Taliban.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you naksuthin. The reason why we need to be vigilant.
