BILOXI, Miss. -- As Mitt Romney headed to the Deep South to campaign on Thursday, after Super Tuesday losses in Georgia and Tennessee, he said that the region is "a bit of an away game" for him, but refused to concede it entirely.

Speaking to radio station WAPI in Birmingham, Ala., where Romney has an event on Friday, he said he was expecting some support in the state, possibly even a majority of its 50 delegates. Alabama and Mississippi hold primaries on Tuesday.

"I'm confident we're going to get some delegates. That, of course, is what this is all about -- getting the delegates necessary to become the nominee. But getting the majority of the delegates, that would be icing on the cake," Romney said.

Romney's campaign has been quick to point out that his lead in the race to reach 1,144 delegates is almost insurmountable at this point, He needs 48 percent of the remaining delegates up for grabs nationwide, while Rick Santorum needs 65 percent and Newt Gingrich needs 70 percent.

Romney is campaigning in Mississippi on Thursday night and Friday. While campaign officials accept that he may not win in these places, they said sending him out to areas with major congressional districts and media markets will help them in their delegate hunt.

I guess America would rather have an ex-Senator, who was voted most corrupt, for taken more corp. lobbyists money than anyone else, and ex-Speaker of the House, who when the going got tough, he resigned and left his constituents hanging, to someone who has an economic background, has had a real job, has been married to the same woman for 42 years, leadership experience, etc. The only people concerned with Religion are those who think or been told that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are bad people and are not Christian. Any church that teaches that another church is not Christian, doesn't not understand "Love one another". If all churches believed the same there would only be one church. That is not the case, there are plenty of churches in America and no two churches believe the same. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not the same church as, the FLDS, Church of Jesus Christ or the RLDS, they don't practice polygamy, Warren Jeffs is not their prophet, and any other churches saying they are the same, is lying. Mitt Romney belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and they are good people. They are taught to respect another person's beliefs, even if that differs from their own. They teach their members to be kind to all and to help all people. If this is what is taught then shouldn't everyone try to do the same, by realizing all of our beliefs are different. This means quit using the religion card and worry more about the issues that face our country and how to fix the problems

Romney might as well stay out of the south because no one in the south is buying his crap. They just don't relate to him. The South has a very large Evangelical population who just don't understand Romney. He might as well face it. Gingrich and Santorum will win the southern primaries.
