Romney: State of the Union to feature "divisive rhetoric from a desperate" Obama

UPDATED 12:25 p.m. ET

TAMPA, Fla. -- In his pre-emptive rebuttal to President Obama's State of the Union address, Mitt Romney on Tuesday said Obama would serve up "divisive rhetoric from a desperate campaigner-in-chief."

"President Obama will make the opening argument in his campaign against a 'do-nothing Congress,''' Romney said. "But we shouldn't forget that for two years, this president had a Congress that could do everything he wanted ... Today, President Obama has amassed an actual record of debt, decline, and disappointment."

The speech served as an opportunity for Romney to change the subject from his income tax returns from 2010 and 2011, which were released Tuesday morning and confirmed his stature as a multi-millionaire who pays a lower tax rate than most Americans -- something the Obama campaign already has started to use against him.

The former Massachusetts governor also predicted Obama would "take another victory lap,"

"In big speeches, he tends to tell tall tales about an America that's thriving on his watch," Romney said, stressing that he would do things differently.

"If tonight were the first message to Congress in a Romney administration, I'd have the courage to tell the American people how it is and tell Congress what we really need to do," he said. "I wouldn't spend my time blaming others for how we got in this mess; I'd explain how we're going to get out of it. I'd use the State of the Union to lay out an agenda that will get our country back on track and get our fiscal house in order."

Against a backdrop of an American Flag falling behind a giant "Obama Isn't Working" banner, Romney tailored his remarks to the voters of Florida, many of whom were hit particularly hard by the 2008 collapse of the housing market.

"Here in Florida," Romney said, "people used to wake up and look forward to a hard day's work and a good, honest wage. The money they earned helped support families and build communities. Today too many factory floors are silent, warehouses are deserted, corporate offices are empty, and real estate endeavors are abandoned. Floridians are struggling to find a job, keep a home, and raise a family."

As Romney concentrate on criticizing Obama, two of his surrogates in Congress on Tuesday continued criticizing rival Newt Gingrich on the former House speaker's consulting contract with mortgage giant Freddie Mac, a substantial topic in Monday night's debate.

"We're not buying this historian story," said Rep. Connie Mack, R-Fla., citing Gingrich's denial that he was a lobbyist. "What was his relationship; what was his influence? I think it's an important issue in Florida."

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, R-Mich., also pointed to Gingrich's aversion to cutting a deal with then-President Clinton on overhauling welfare to deny Clinton a political accomplishment as he sought re-election in 1996.

"Clinton vetoed that legislation twice; Newt wanted him to veto it a third time," Camp said. "We stood up to Newt and if we didn't we might not have had welfare reform."

Sarah Boxer has the unenviable task of following Mitt 'Roof Rack' Romney around this campaign. His bleating about President Obama's upcoming speech is not believable - nor his view that the man in the White House is 'desperate'. Doesn't look that way from here, Mitt. He has been able to sit back and enjoy the drubbing Newt 'Third Time's The Charm' Gingrich and Romney have given each other without lifting a finger. His campaign will eventually roll out in earnest and we'll see who has been busy saving American jobs, killing top terrorists and wrestling with an obstructionist Congress that hasn't accomplished anything but losing the public's respect. Health Care reform; saving the American auto industry (and some banks); saving the fledgling democracy movement in Libya: these are real-world achievements. What have Mitt and Newt been doing? Making big green dollars for themselves - at ridiculous tax rates (or, in Mitt's case, partially tax-free). Pshaw.

It's amazing to see Mr. quarter-billionaire, who had millions in income in the years since he became "unemployed" in order to be a full-time politician, complaining about a president who has reversed the disastrous economic trends his predecessor left him. Romney says Obama had 2 whole years with a Dem Congress and "got nothing done." How about national Romneycare? Is that nothing? How about getting people back to work almost as fast as Bush cost them their jobs. No, ex-governor, you've got it wrong. It's time to get a real job and pay your taxes like a man, or shut your trap and let us 99% try to fix the country your 1% have made such a hash of to line your own pockets.

So often, important facets of a situation go unnoticed by many, if not most.
How many noticed that the backdrop for the Romney speech was a vertical hung American flag? More and more, politicos are goregoing an American flag hung horizontally for one hung vertically. Even when a horizontal flag would make more sense, a vertical flag is often preferred. In an episode of "everybody Loves Raymond", for example, daughter Ally's classroom has a flag hung on the wall, but, rather than hang it horizontally, which would give the children an early familiatriy with the symbol of the nation, it's hung vertically. And there is more than enough space for a horizontal flag.
This facilitates a devious ploy of the New World Order. Note that, when the flag is hung vertically at government functions, it's always displayed in the twisted, deviant position of being flipped horizontally, then rotated counterclockwise. Shills for the NWO automatically jump on the "excuse" that "that's the law", but just because some criminal poliitcos made something a law doesn't mean it is ethical, honorable or moral. The normal position for the flag hung vertically is starting from the correct position horizontally, the rotating it clockwise. At the very least, there is a potential for generating a subliminal sensation of unease, but it should be mentioned that this is a "war position" display, similar to that employed by The Philippines in hanging their flag. In fact, the U.S. has seen itself at war with the entire rest of the planet since World War II. The United Nations was less a way to ensure peace, which it hasn't, than a craven institutionalizing of the victory of the Allies.
And this only mirrors the policy of the backward flag in the military. Among those who refuse to take a dull, obsequiously accepting attitude toward everything government does, awareness of the abomination of backward American flags on soldiers' uniforms. Again, quislings bleat, "That's the law!", often backing it up with the dodge "The symbol is meant to commemorate the flag flapping backward when armies on foot used to surge forward. It symbolizes the American forces always pressing forward." At the very least, it can be represented as a form of voodoo sympathetic magic. But it's fouler than that. Because, you do not change the symbol of a nation for the purpose just of "suggesting forward motion"! The flag is the signature of the nation! Like any signature, it is meaningless in an official connotation unless depicted precisely. The symbol is the sign of the New World Order, it means that, if anyone tries to bring the U.S. up on charges for atrocities done in the case of the backward flag, no court composed of West bribed or blackmailed jurists will touch it!
In its own way, the backward flag is the upside down cross of the God hating New World Order, reminiscent, too, of the fact that the GOP uses the star of the sigil of Baphomet in their logo.
Not even that the "explanation" of "representing the Armed Forces" moving foward makes any sense. The Air Force, Marines and Navy are not required to employ it. But many seeking to promote the New World Order principle of "solving all problems through military atrocities", notice the many who now proudly wqear the backward flag on their chest. On the right sleeve, it resembles a flag streaming backward as an army moved forward, but not on the chest or on a cap! And no amount of bleating about "the law" explains why, when the flag from the NWO fabricated "attack" on the World Trade Center was carried flat at the 2002 Winter Olympics, they made sure to carry it in the backwards configuration, not forwards! And, even though they work with the Army, bomb disposal forces, often civilians, often don't wear the perverted banner, apparently to protect them from the anger of God at the NWO.
Of course, many in private homes are displaying the flag vertically, and most are doing it in the abnormal configuration. Quislings would "explain" that "like good Americans, those people know how to display the flag correctly vertically". It's actually, apparently, the other way around, Only those versed in the depraved symbology of the NWO display their flag vertically, and inverted. Probably as a signal that they are friends of global enslavement when the New World Order decides to initiate its universal military assault on human rights.
