Christie turns protestor's chant into anti-Obama tirade

EXETER, N.H. - After protestors interrupted his rally on Sunday, Mitt Romney got help from an ally who doesn't mind going toe-to-toe with demonstrators - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

After a handful of "Christie kills jobs!" chants could be heard rippling through the jam-packed Exeter High School gym, the famously combative Christie immediately retorted, "Really? You know, something may go down tonight, but it ain't gonna be jobs, sweetheart."

The governor said that 60,000 new jobs had been created under his administration, and quickly sought to turn the disruption to his friend's political advantage by tying her remarks to President Obama.

"If she wasn't so blinded by her Barack Obama-induced anger," he shouted, referencing the heckler, "she'd know that American jobs are coming back when Mitt Romney is the next president of the United States, and if she wasn't so disorientated by the loss of hope and change, she'd understand that Mitt Romney is the hope for America's future!"

As the crowd erupted, Christie continued in the forceful manner that made many Republicans wish he had entered the race.

"See, beware -- this is a warning, this is a cautionary tale to be inspired by someone who has built a life that America can be proud of, not by a Chicago ward politician," he said. "I doubt he is, but I hope the president's watching. I have a message for you, Mr. President: This is the type of disoriented anger your cynicism and your division is causing in our country. Bring our country together -- stop dividing it, Mr. President."

Romney, for his part, opted for humor over anger at the disruption. "Oh," he told the audience, "this is our regular crowd here."

If Christie's on the ticket, I guarantee you can kiss the women's vote goodbye.

That abrasive, tough guy schtick might play well at a boys' night poker game, but his offensive, sexist comments like "something's going down and it ain't jobs, sweetheart" would even put off Snookie.

NJ Governor Chris Christie is a living proof of what is wrong with our elected officials. He is untruthful and obnoxious. What he said here defies common sense. Christie deserves a pink slip from Romney's campaign now, but he knows very well that he won't get it. Only if Christie's job could be exported to China to make money for Romney, Romney would do it. Thank you.

Anybody who still thinks this race will be about GOP vs DNC, or as Left vs Right, will be in for a rude awakening. The two parties, in their constant shifts back to the center every election, have slowly mish-mashed our politics.

Both sides have fully embraced the idea of a "living" Constitution that is meant to be used more as a guide than the highest Law in the land. Minus the Tea Party crowd, they are both fully committed to a large federal government that can MAKE people better, or FORCE another to care. Because of this, our entire political discussion has devolved to a few subjects-- can 2 girls kiss and make a family, when does a fetus turn into a baby with equal civil rights to the mother, and how should we balance man vs the environment. We as a nation have come to accept the idea that all we need to do is get our side in power, and then we can force our beliefs onto the other side.

The civil liberties enshrined in the Constitution are there not as the pretty list of a Utopian dream. It was meant to be a functional system, that protected the minority from the majority, and We the People from the government, and the weak from the strong. When we forget WHY it's there all hell breaks loose and people start getting probed at the airport for looking at the TSA wrong, or end up dead in dark allies with government agents standing over us.

Yes!!! I agree whole-heartedly. Every time we deviate from the constitution, we run into problems and lose liberties.

Government does not 'give you' your rights!

Government does not 'create' jobs!!

Entitlements are not rights!!

A corporation is not a person!!

Individuals have innate rights, not groups (if a group had rights, then they would not be equal for all)!!

You can't even live in the US and grow your own food, own your own land, and protect yourself without spooks coming to your door demanding cash. Maybe they will accept 40% of my produce?

I want small, limited, transparent federal government that stands aside and lets the people take care of themselves instead of forcing them to buy into their corrupt system and convincing them they are powerless (have you seen the nationally syndicated news media lately?)

I used to somewhat respect Christie until he started opening his fat mouth about national politics...he claims Obama is a divider but Obama has extended his hand to the GOP COUNTLESS times...the GOP and their voter base have questioned his loyaly, his religion, and even his nationality and they dare to call him the divider...all Christie has done is trash the President...does he consider himself a unifier? He's a fat blowhard who needs to stay in America's cesspool, New Jerz

ur still stuck in the 2 party mindset... ur distracted from the big picture. GOP vs DNC is as fake as professional wrestling. obama and bush are both war-mongers, and almost all the "mainstream" corporate candidates are owned by the military-industrial complex

look it up, dont take mainstream media's word for it. ron paul is not bought and paid for, and he is the only candidate who offers real solutions. my political consciousness has been awakened, america needs to return to the constitution and it needs real news

Not only do I disagree with Christie's attack on the president, I disagree with his attack on the woman. For a long time , there have been those enamored with Chris Christie's harsh, combative style when dealing with those who, in any way, oppose him. While he is, in many ways personable, his impatience with those who don't agree with him,and the bullying manner and tactics that he uses, are unprofessional, thuggish, and unpresidential( should he some day want to run).Even though some find it appealing, coarseness is not a virtue; and we need leaders who don't constantly threaten violence( even jokingly), but set the right tone and example, especially in a country that is so polarized.

Christie is just another fat ex-lobbyist sucking on taxpayers teats.
"In 1998 Christie registered as a lobbyist for the firm of Dughi, Hewit & Palatucci, alongside fellow partner and later, gubernatorial campaign fundraiser Bill Palatucci. Between 1999 and 2001, Christie and Palatucci lobbied on behalf of, among others, GPU Energy for deregulation of New Jersey's electric and gas industry; the Securities Industry Association to block the inclusion of securities fraud under the state's Consumer Fraud Act; Hackensack University Medical Center for state grants, and the University of Phoenix for a New Jersey higher education license." wikipedia
