Rick Perry flubs voting age and election day
DERRY, N.H. -- Multiple members of Rick Perry's campaign staff are pushing back against a Politico report that a staff shakeup has made Joe Allbaugh the new campaign manager and sidelined top strategist Dave Carney to working in New Hampshire.

"There have been no title changes, there have been no additions or subtractions or significant changes since we made the announcement back in October about Allbaugh and [Nelson] Warfield and [Tony] Fabrizio and the other folks," said Ray Sullivan, Perry's communications director.

Sullivan denied Politico's report that Allbaugh was named the new campaign manager -- a role he played for former president George W. Bush -- and Fabrizio the main strategist. Campaign manager Rob Johnson still has his job, Sullivan said. He added that Allbaugh, a senior advisor, is helping with managerial duties such as scheduling and finances.

"He's not a political consultant/strategy guy, he's a manager/implementer," Sullivan said of Allbaugh, with whom he has worked with multiple times over the past decade and a half.

Sullivan said Carney is still the campaign's chief strategist and is focused on messaging and details such as how much time the Texas governor is spending in each state.

Members of Perry's campaign staff will be traveling more as the election approaches, Sullivan added. Johnson, has already been spending more time on the road with Perry in New Hampshire and Iowa, and at debates.

"He's just kind of a closer eyes and ears on the ground helping manage our efforts in the state," Sullivan said.

Deny away. As a supporter of Rick Perry and a Texan for 50 years I HOPE they have a new chief and a new direction. I tried to get involved in the campaign from here in Texas but they couldn't seem to find anything for me to do but sign a check. HE NEEDS TO DROP THE PART TIME CONGRESS BIT. It may be a great applause line, but that is a trap. Are we sending him to Washington to fight WHATEVER congress is there even if it is a GOP majority?? That's insane, but it seems to be what he is selling. Stop and think. Then STOP IT.

Since [Tony] Fabrizio has been made the top spin doctor and propaganda minister to "You Can't Fix Me So Don't Go There" Rick Perry we have seen a very pathetic Governor "Alzheimer" of Texas as nothing more than a cheap, plastic doll, pulled by strings like a puppet by Farizio who is can get even a death row serial murdered elected into political office with lies, misdirection, more lies and scare tactics.

This is a total surprise to me. I thought he conucted his campaign out of the back of his Dodge Ram pickup with saddlebags full of mansucripts and candy bars.

My, my, live and learn.

They're not doing a staff shakeup, but they are seeking a new candidate.
