Bachmann: "Fallon" dustup shows bias, sexism

NBC
Rep. Michele Bachmann said Wednesday that NBC's response to the decision by the House band on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to play a song called "Lyin' A** B*tch" as she walked onstage shows the anti-conservative bias as well as sexism of "the Hollywood entertainment elite."

"[I]f that had been Michelle Obama who had come out on the stage and if that song had been played for Michelle Obama I have no doubt that NBC would have apologized to her and likely they could have fired the drummer or at least suspended him," said Bachmann, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination.

"None of that happened from NBC, and this is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite but it's also I think sexism as well," she continued. "This wouldn't be tolerated if this was Michelle Obama. It shouldn't be tolerated if it's a conservative woman, either."

Bachmann said she accepted the apology of host Jimmy Fallon, who Tweeted Tuesday evening, "I'm honored that @michelebachmann was on our show yesterday and I'm so sorry about the intro mess. I really hope she comes back." She said she loves Fallon - "he's a kick" - and would like to go back on his show.

But she said his apology isn't enough.

"Of course I accept Jimmy's apology but this really needs to come from NBC, and this is an outrage that happened," she said.

The decision to play the song, by the band Fishbone, appears to have belonged to drummer Questlove, who Tweeted before Bachmann came out, "aight late night walkon song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. ask around cause i aint tweeting title."

He later retweeted reactions, including "@questlove huge ups to the fishbone tune for Bachman on jimmy tonight. perfect entry song for her!"

Bachmann, who later repeated her call for NBC to apologize on Fox radio, said Wednesday morning she was not aware that the song had been played until late yesterday. Fallon did not mention the incident on Tuesday night's show, and Questlove was in the band for the broadcast.

Michelle Bachmann was invited and appeared on a democratic talk show which was an act of liberialism and was treated very good by Jimmy and the audience (no booing like at NASCAR) was Hillary ever invited onto a conserative talk show like Fallons' no.

Conseratives don't have talk shows that would invite people outside of their relm of thinking that would make them appear open minded and soft, besides Murdock would hack into their phone or computer and then twist and create lies from anything they found.

The liberial media or as Bachmann puts it, the Hollywood elite (ie she's saying partison) had her on NBC, DWTS had Palin's daughter on their show as well as Tom Delay and paid them well, then there's CBS had Perry & Cain on Dave Letterman, the liberal media is more American than fascist media.

If it would of been a uppity black liberal like Al Sharpton they would of played the Russian national anthem to cheers. Bachman is a Godley woman like the Ruth of the Bible who I belielve God is destined to rule us during these end times.

What does Al Sharpton have to do with Bachmann? Also, the song didn't include any reference to race. It's quite obvious you are another fake Christian racist who doesn't read the Bible. The book of Ruth makes no mention of her ruling anything or anyone. She was the daughter in law of Naomi who went on to marry Boaz. Stop trying to use the bible to back up your hateful, racist views.

I don't believe that Fallon didn't know what his band was going to do---He is trash for allowing it. The larger issue is that people in the news media and major network "entertainment" venues are actively campaigning for their preferred candidate, Obama. However, it makes no difference whom they prefer, really, the behavior is inappropriate. Because they are doing this again, as they did in 2007-8, they should be monitored by the Justice Department and be required to conform to federal campaign law. Because Fallon's program is part of a commercially- sponsored venue, the best thing anyone, who objects to what was a case-study in bullying, can do is to contact his sponsors and express your distaste.

The song choice WAS inappropriate. They should've played 'Stupid Racist Lyin' A.ss B.it.ch' instead.

Comparing herself to Michele Obama was an egregiously racist shot against the First Lady, who is NOT a candidate for office. The ridiculous whining about 'sexism' typically ignores the facts--FAR worse things were said and written about George W. Bush, Al Gore, John Kerry, John McCain and Barak Obama.

What's more, Bachmann has received FAR gentler treatment than Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin or Nancy Pelosi.

And Bachmann has shown no such indignation about Herman Cain's sexual assault(s) and harrassment of women when he was a lobbyist for a the restaurant trade association. Where is the consistency?

The truth is that Bachmann HAS been busted time and again during her inept campaign for misstating 'facts', for distorting events, and for out and out lies. The song Fallon's band played may not have been polite, but it was not inaccurate.

lets get this straight the band leader for jimmy fallon's show played music with obscene lyrics to introduce michelle bachman who is disliked by liberals and thought it was a great joke to play on her like pasting a sticker on someone's back that says kick me and progressives here are defending this juvenile action. shows the level of civility that liberals live on.
