Rick Perry launches national ad campaign
Texas Gov. Rick Perry's campaign is advertising on Fox News, in what appears to be a continuation of his national media campaign to rehabilitate his image after an embarrassing gaffe during Wednesday night's debate in Rochester, Mich.
Perry spokesman Mark Miner confirmed the buy to CBS News and National Journal, but was unable to confirm the amount. The New York Times is reporting that the campaign has spent $975,000 on the buy, citing numbers provided by a rival campaign monitoring ad sales.
The national push comes on top of hundreds of thousands of dollars in ad buys in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina by both Perry's campaign and a SuperPAC supporting him called Make Us Great Again. They have principally sought to highlight Perry's biography, his emphasize his leadership abilities and energy plan.
