Arizona Sen. John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, could face a strong primary challenge in his 2010 reelection effort: A new Rasmussen Reports poll finds McCain in a virtual tie with a conservative Phoenix radio host and former Congressman J.D. Hayworth.

Hayworth has expressed interest in running against McCain, but he has not announced that he will do so. The former Congressman got 43 percent support in the survey of likely Republican primary voters, while McCain got 45 percent. Four percent went to former Minutemen leader Chris Simcox.

McCain leads among the state's Republican women, while Hayworth leads among men.

Rasmussen points out that a September poll found that while 75 percent of Republican primary voters expect McCain to win the nomination, 61 percent feel he has lost touch with the members of his party.

Nearly three in four Republicans nationwide say elected Republicans in Congress have lost touch with party members.

As for McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, Rasmussen has found that 59 percent of Republican voters say she shares the values of Republicans across the country.

McCain's Too Old and that Goes for More than Half of Congress and the Senate, in Both Parties.

I Demand Term & Age Limits, that's why this Country's in a Rut, the Continuum of the same Names, Faces and the Same Old Power Control the Wealthy have on Both Parties.

No one in Congress or Senate, regardless of Political Persuasion, should be Older than 56 Year's of age..

56 and that's the End of your US Political Career, thus would End the Term...

"Career Politician" Forever and John McCain, John Kerry,Dianne Feinstein, Mitch McConnell, James Byrd, Ron Paul,Charlie Rangel,Olympia Snowe and Joe Lieberman are all..

"Old A!! Career Politicians"

Nothing Gets Accomplished, No Change, Just More Of The Same, how can People look at the same Old AARP, Sr. Citizens and Not say, what the Hell am I listening to GrandPa & GrandMa for ?

51 Republican Congressmen are on Medi-Care yet Claim their...

I'm an AZ voter and I'm not voting for McCain again until I see his MRI image. Every time that I see him anymore, he is just acting strangely.

I would like to make something very clear, LoveGetPeace.....the Republican party is not interested in electing Moderate Republicans who have a Liberal voting record......got that...with a liberal voting record......However, we ARE interested in electing/re-electing Moderate Republicans with a CONSERVATIVE voting record....got that ??
=====================================================================
IE we are not interested in ANYONE who does not share our twisted little
view of the world. We are only interested in party members who vote
for conservative things .... LIKE BOGUS WARS ... AND WELFARE FOR COMPANIES
LIKE HALLIBURTON AND BLACKWATER USA ....

Poor McCain- he blew all of his credibility when he picked Palin for VP and tried to say with a straight face Sarah was qualified to be president-

Now the very people he was trying to appease are turning on him...

Dont worry John even Barry Goldwater is too liberal for these neo-nazi Tea Buggers...

Maybe Harry Reid will take you in as a Democrat and you're buddy Lindsay Graham too they are after him as a liberal-

Maybe Lindsay Graham and you and Liberman and Lou Dobbs (oh if forget he doesn't like you) should form a new party and see how many people flock to your banner- ha ha

Jeez i didn't see anything in the mccain campaign that looked moderate thats probably why he didn't get elected for president. for the (con)servatives politics is all about right and left and then the compromise of both sides. it seems that most cons don understand this and don't want to so take your ball and go away we'll find some one else to play. it's highly doubtful that even a repub would win his seat in 2010.

Why should he run, after all he's going to drop dead mid-term, right libs ?? I mean you made such a stink about his age and him being McSenile and McCancer, that I would think you are surprised he lasted 1 year since the campaign

John is too old for politics today and tomorrow.
He is so old that he remembers Arizona's Petrified Forest as a sapling.
He is so old that uranium's carbon half-life was mistaken for his age number.
He is so old that he remembers when women couldn't vote ( and no one has ever taught him otherwise, apparently).
Don't fret, John. Old farts never die, they just drift away.(background music 1970's circa..I wanna get lost in your rock n' roll and drift away. yeah...)
Cut his meds.

There is a huge difference.....so when you mention moderate republicans, you have to specify which type, liberal or conservative.....if you don't your just lying or furthering your democrat agenda of defeating republicans, which is most likely your motive.

Relax, McCain. It is time to retire. Take a nice long vacation. And for God's sake, as soon as the dust clears, call Oleg Derepaska and collect your "honorary Russian" money while he is still here on earth to assist you.
We all know you have gotten so rich as a Congressman since the days of your military paycheck that you secretly wish you could get the hell out of Washington, anyway!
