McCain: I Hope Palin Sells a Lot of Books

Despite the fact that Sarah Palin uses her new book to air her grievances with John McCain's presidential campaign team, McCain reportedly said he enjoyed reading Palin's book.

"I hope she sells lots of them," McCain told the Hill newspaper.

Palin, who served as McCain's vice presidential running mate in the 2008 presidential election, accuses the McCain staff of micro-managing her and keeping her from the press, among other things.

Some members of McCain's campaign staff have disputed her claims, and factual errors from her book have come to light, as well as discrepancies in her claims.

McCain has largely stayed out of the debate over the veracity of Palin's claims, but he told the Hill that it was untrue that she was sent a $50,000 legal bill to pay for the vice presidential vetting process. He said the bill was in fact to pay for legal fees related to the "Troopergate" investigation into an alleged abuse of power by Palin.

"That was over the troopergate," McCain said, referring to the investigation into Palin's attempts to fire her ex-brother-in-law, state Trooper Mike Wooten.

Meanwhile, Palin continues to promote her book with media interviews as well as on her new Twitter page, @SarahPalinUSA, which shows the dates and locations of some of the stops on her book tour. Palin has yet to leave any messages on her new Twitter account and is not "following" anyone on the social networking site, but she has already amassed more than 18,800 "followers."

I liked this woman until a few days ago when I heard her shooting her mouth off about Israel and the settlements. If she has so great an affinity for those people and their state, perhaps she should pack up and move to Jerusalem. I am tired of hearing from traitors who like to call themselves conservatives.

SARAH PALIN WILL BE THE 45TH PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Liberals can complain all they want. They are terrified of Sarah.

palin has her republican base that love and adore her just as obama has his democratic base that loves and adores him. neither can do any wrong in the eyes of their fanatic supporters. as for mccain, he was an idiot to select palin as his running mate. mccain, by selecting palin, handed the election to obama on a silver platter. one wonders if mccain would be potus today had he selected someone with more experience as his running mate. as for palin, she is like a toothache that just won't go away or like constantly running finger nails on a classroom chaulk board. too bad, so sad.

COURIC seems to be Jealous of her being VP Nominee..... let us see the future, I wish SARAH PALIN GOOD LUCK

Palin ran for VP. She was a mayor and governor so I'm sure she's more than smart enough. One thing I can guarantee is that she's smarter than Joe Biden. Have you heard the things he said? And he's one heart-beat from the presidency?

Anyone that wants to play the 'Palin is stupid" card should try to judge Joe Biden by the same standard. But the liberals won't as they know Biden would fail miserably!

I haven't read the book yet so I can't really comment. Nor has most of the people that are criticizing her book.

One thing that is clear is that the media is so slanted these days. 11 AP reporters to fact-check Palin's book compared to zero for Biden's book. Hmmm now why is that?

And Obama didn't get his books fact checked, nor did the Clintons or Al Gore.

So whether there are some half-truths or not, it doesn't really matter that much to me. I know from reading Al Gore's book and one of Obama's book that they would not pass the mustard if fact checked by even 1 reporter let alone 11 reporters.

People are going to like or dislike Palin because of what she believes in. The same goes for Gore, Clinton and Obama. These days, people are finding out that Obama represented himself falsely as a moderate as he's a far left liberal. They will like or dislike Obama based on his liberal policies and not if he didn't completely tell the truth in his books.

Well, John's just soft pedaling, kind of like he did on Bush to get support during his campaign.

It's kind of like saying, "she's rather full of BS, but I respect her right to run."

Oh Well. Pat her on the head and send her on her way, Johnny.

McCain is a senile old man.......

Yeah! I just bet he does! But, what else would you expect him to say...to state the obvious? There's no need! The vast majority of the adult public knows a 'lot of license with the facts' were taken by the writer(s).

That's just ONE MORE person calling Palin a liar.

Did she tell the truth about ANYTHING in this book?

Correction: Did the author tell the truth about ANYTHING in this book?

Both Palin and McCain are liars, I don't believe either one.
