Sarah Palin Calls Newsweek Sexist

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has launched a full-scale media blitz this week to promote her new book, but not all of the media attention she is receiving has been to her approval.

Newsweek magazine's cover story this week took a critical look at Palin, but it was the photograph featured on the cover that she particularly took issue with. A photo of Palin in an exercise outfit and sneakers ran on the cover next to the headline "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Sarah?" The picture was originally taken for the magazine Runner's World.

Palin wrote on her Facebook page Monday night that the photo choice was "unfortunate."

"When it comes to Sarah Palin, this 'news' magazine has relished focusing on the irrelevant rather than the relevant," she wrote. "The Runner's World magazine one-page profile for which this photo was taken was all about health and fitness - a subject to which I am devoted and which is critically important to this nation. The out-of-context Newsweek approach is sexist and oh-so-expected by now. If anyone can learn anything from it: it shows why you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, gender, or color of skin. The media will do anything to draw attention - even if out of context."

The news media have truly been instruments of the Palin publisher's marketing media. Seldom has a political woman, who resonates with a certain element of America, had so little to offer as presidental timber! Why other news media are making her their 'darling of the day' is not understandable. She is an insult to her faith, a quitter to the people who elected her to office, relies on quaint sayings (Soccer Mon, etc)for media coverage, and her recollection of truthfullness leaves much to be desired.
I applaud Newsweek for putting her antics into some perspective.

Spewsweek is a gossip-mongering tabloid for braindead bottom feeders, like the Early Show.

Maybe if her whole campaign hadn't been a slew of lies, half truths, and campaign-fed slogans ("I'm a maverick. Obama pals around with terrorists. I can see Russia from my house, etc") the media wouldn't attack her so. Ever think about that?

So what! I didn't know you had to be ugly and fat to be accepted in politics, especially since she is an above average, pretty woman in a mostly male-dominated career. She enjoys health and fitness! Anything to try and bash this lady, the constant criticism the media is always portraying toward her is really making me stop and wonder why she is hated so much?
I really can't find a lot of fault with her, Alaskans I have talked to liked her as a governor, it sounds like she's just more interested in improving the lives of common citizens, than the lives of politicians and I really like that part about her. I guess that's another reason many people hate her and I can't help but shake my head about that.
No wonder America keeps heading in the wrong direction.
It's not really about the average American is it?

It is very obvious that the Liberals and their media are very worried about Sarah Palin! They try to discredit her at every opportunity, even if they have to make up the opportunity. Why are they worried about her? They loath her, and they are afraid she has the power to move the country away from their failed package of radical national policies. Personally, I think posting a picture of her in her running gear on the magazine cover is very appropriate. It's a forecast of what's to come. RUN, SARAH, RUN!

Sexist? Not at all. The Newsweek cover displays a lovely lady with a trim, athletic figure, and legs to die for. Very flattering to Sarah.

God, I'm so tired of all this!!!! In Newsday, they identify Palin as "the Presumptive 2012 Presidential Candidate." WHAT?!?!?!??! Isn't "presumptive" the label usually after the primaries are down two 2 candidates?!?!?!? PRESUMPTIVE in 2009?!?!?!??!??! When she hasn't even really confirmed she's running?!?!?!?! ***?!?!? GOd, we just recovered from the LAST 3 year plus campaign and election! NOT ANOTHER ONE!!!!! STOP IT!!!!
