Rep. LaTourette Mocks Democrats' Health Care "Waaah"

Republican Ohio Rep. Steven LaTourette engaged in what The Awl described as a "one minute stand-up routine" on the House floor this week, and it's well worth it checking out. Watch at left.

"We couldn't stop a one-car parade," LaTourette says of his fellow Republicans, noting the relatively small number of GOPers in the House. "This health care discussion is a fight between the left, and the far left."

"This is a bad bill," he concludes. "They can't even get their own team to row the boat. But they want to say 'Republicans don't want health care.' Waaah."

As LaTourette wraps up, laughter can be heard in the chamber.

Healthcare is serious when you don't have it, that's indisputable. I can't understand an elected official saying "Whaa". There is nothing funny about it. Especially when we have to pay for his care as taxpayers.

I agree! He may use his speech time to make his points however he chooses...but to mock whose who are critical of Republican inaction...is NOT wise on his part! It certainly ISN'T going to motivate the public to 'vote Republican', either!

LaTourette?
Is that that disease where people have an uncontrolable urge to swear in French?

Funny. This scum bag gets his health care from a government program, single source payer - Bethesda Naval Medical Center.

Good enough for the GOP, but regular US tax payers are not good enough to get the same level of care (even though we are paying for it).

What's really funny is that he's right. The democrats can't even write a bill that makes sense to democrats. It's a bad bill...waaaaaa.

The Republican are always in lock-step since all their legislation is based on lining the pocket of the wealthy while screwwing the middle class.

If the degree of political dissaray is measured by the level of power than you can answer that question.
