Vice President Joe Biden's popularity has fallen to its lowest point since the Democratic National Convention, a new Gallup poll finds.

There are nearly as many people with an unfavorable opinion of Biden, at 40 percent, as there are with a favorable opinion (42 percent). That makes Biden far less popular than the previous two vice presidents, Dick Cheney and Al Gore, during their respective first years in office.

Biden's favorability rating peaked in November of last year at 59 percent, the poll finds, and has steadily dropped since. While President Obama's popularity has declined over the course of the year as well, his favorability rating remains higher than Biden's at 55 percent, according to Gallup. On average this year, Biden's favorability rating has been close to 20 points lower than the president's.

By contrast, both Cheney and Gore in their first years as vice president held favorability ratings just a few points lower than President George W. Bush's and President Clinton's, respectively. On average, Cheney held a favorability rating of 65 percent in 2001, while Gore was popular among 55 percent of Americans in 1993.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton beats out both Biden and Mr. Obama with a recent favorability rating of 62 percent.

Look up "incompetent" and "buffoon" in Webster's and you'll find a picture of this bumbling twit. A total assclown.

This is obviously because they don't put Biden out there enough to make speeches and public pronouncements. People would realize then that he is just a bumbling harmless fool who pretends to be a genius as he plays Vice President. Nothing funnier than watching liberal melt down when they find out that Dick Cheney was better at something than "their guy". Let's just hope that President Obama stays healthy. Let's be honest here, Biden is actually the liberal version of Dan Quayle. (Only Quayle was smarter)

For the life of me, I cannot see how in the hell Biden's favorability rating can be lower than Cheney's. Ah the media.

For all of you Repugs claiming these polls are meaningful, remember, Bill Clinton left office with an approval rating at 66%, the highest end of office rating of any president since World War II.

That must mean he was our greatest President in the last 75 years.
George Jr's 22% was the lowest since Gallop started taking polls 70 years ago, that must make him our worst President.

I got to love the progressives hiding from the reality in the present by dwelling in the past. Forget about the sinking present America, and remember the evil Bushs and the glorious Clintons of the past. Sounds real progressive to me.

I like Biden better than Cheney or Gore so some stupid propaganda inspired poll means nothing to me because like the song says "I don't care what other people think, what do you think about that?"
The wealthy are doing everything they can to derail Obama's plan to take the country back from the rich and give it to the rest of us, and I for one am not falling for propaganda from the rich.

This is a non-story when you consider
Cheney left office with a 13 percent approval rating.

Personally I was thrilled to hear of Cheney's hunting accident until
I learned he was not on the receiving end.
