Sarah Palin to Appear on "Oprah" to Push Book

(AP/Harper)
Former Alaska governor and Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on November 16th – one day before the release of her memoir, "Going Rogue: An American Life."

The interview will mark the first meeting between Palin and Winfrey, who campaigned for Barack Obama during the presidential campaign. She had never previously endorsed a candidate.

There is perhaps no better platform than Winfrey's show to drum up sales for a book: Her "Book Club" has consistently driven books to the bestseller list.

Palin did a round of largely ill-received interviews with media organizations, including CBS News, during last year's presidential campaign; she has yet to appear on any of the late-night talk shows, where she has been a regular target. (She did make a memorable appearance on "Saturday Night Live.")

(AP)
There are two other public appearances on Palin's calendar: A November 6th event at a Wisconsin Right to Life event in Milwaukee and a December 2nd event at the College of the Ozarks in Missouri. But the Winfrey appearance is by far the most high-profile appearance, and is being billed as her first interview to discuss the book.

"Going Rogue" rose to the top of the Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com sales rankings more than a month and a half before its release, thanks to preorders. The initial printing for the book is 1.5 million copies, matching the initial printing for Ted Kennedy's recent memoir, "True Compass."

I think it is about time that Madame Sarah goes back to Alaska and takes care of Track, Trap, Troop, Trip, Trim, Trig, Trot or whatever she named those babies, I am sure they must need her or is First Dude the diaper changer now. I don't think she can add anything to the Oprah show or to any other show, her 15 minutes of fame are long over.

Oprah needs the ratings, and her strategists have felt this is a nice way to get folksy folks that wouldn't normally watch, to tune it.

They're both narcissictic and pathetic; "sells-outs" to anything that's real or worthy.

She'll play nice w/ the idiot so as not to chase away her new viewing audience.

Yea they need to dumb it down so that you can understand it Beckie. I figured your problem out, your reading skills aren't good enough to read the book.

There is no way Oprah is gonna let Sarah Palin promote her book without trying to make her look foolish. Oprah's audience is most likely heavily liberal, especially since she made up her own religion, and they will want to see Oprah go for blood. I guess Palin figures its worth the potential boost in book sales.

Sarah Palin is one of the most interesting and charismatic political figures to come on the scene in quite a while. Even Miss Big Face knows that or else she wouldn't have invited Palin on her show.

If liberals embraced Sarah Palin, I wouldn't like her so much. All that hateration from the left just lets me know Sarah Palin is definitely on the right track.

Good logic Lamthemango
So if the Liberals hated Adolf Hitler in WW11
That would be a good reason to believe he was on the right track?
Typical NeoClown Lack of Cognitive Reasoning!!!

No wonder those bearing the Mark of the Beast (The GOP)
Number only19% and falling

Hey moron, Stop using the 19% issue, you misunderstand it and misuse it all the time. The sad part is you probably believe it. STOP USING THAT 19% issue, because it is a lie
