The Associated Press reports that Palin's resignation from the job as a production operator for BP was effective September 18th.
"Todd loved his union job on the Slope and hopes to return,'' Sarah Palin spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton said via email. "For now, he is spending time with his family."
The AP reports that Todd Palin made roughly $34,500 last year at the part time job, plus another $51,700 through the Palins' commercial fishing business. He also had $5,600 in snowmobile race winnings.
