Sarah Palin's forthcoming memoir, "Going Rogue," has reached the top spot on the Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com sales rankings – more than a month and a half before it will hit bookshelves on November 17th.

The ranking is based on preorders of the book by the former Republican presidential candidate and Alaska governor who resigned in July, before the end of her gubernatorial term.

Palin, working with author Lynn Vincent, finished "Going Rogue" more quickly than initially planned, prompting the book's release date to be moved up from the spring. It took the pair about four months to write the 400-page memoir, which her publisher describes as "her words, her life."

The initial printing for the book is currently set for 1.5 million copies, matching the initial printing of Ted Kennedy's memoir, "True Compass."

Palin remains extremely popular with grassroots Republicans, though she may have a harder time attracting those who pay big bucks for lectures: The New York Post ran a story Wednesday, based on anonymous sources, speculating that "the big lecture buyers in the US are paralyzed with fear about booking" Palin because of their perception that she is unintelligent.

It's worth noting that Palin, who is working with the well-regarded Washington Speakers Bureau, was reportedly paid "a sum in the low six figures" for a recent speech in Hong Kong. The Post claims Palin is asking $100,000 per speech.

One of the Post's anonymous sources says lecture venues with subscription series' are wary of the possibility that they will "tick people off" by hosting the controversial former governor, which they worry would prompt people to cancel their subscriptions.

Sooo, let's think about this. Obama has been in office for few months now and I think he's experience or I should say lack there of speaks volumes. That hopey changy thing can only go so far. If the voters had taken the time to research this man they may have come to a different conclusion, but that isn't the case. He's books were penned by someone he claimed to hardly know and he thinks that our constitution is something that needs to take a back seat to his own beliefs. He has made millions spewing he's misconceptions of how our country should be and Sarah Palin has the same rights as Obama. I doubt that Palin intends to run in 2012 period! There are millions of Americans that love this woman because she speaks for what our country is supposed to be about. Those of you on this blog on both sides need to stop with the personal assults and get educated about all sides of the story. You end the don't forward your cause by insaults and demeaning comments. I voted for Mc Cain because I worry about the security of our country. I voted against Obama because of lack of experience. Now my worst fears are coming to light. Lots of lip service and nothing more. I'll read this book and hope she can help bring some change in in 2010. I'm an Independent and all the REPS AND DEMS THAT AREN'T DOING THE JOB THAT WE ELECTED THEM TO DO NEED TO GO HOME NOW.

the liberal machine will crumble in 2010.All this massive spending for bailouts,a massive healthcare plan worth trillions while we are borrowing money from China,an inflation coming. This is for you Libs,i just read that if your overweight or smoke you will have to pay a little more for health insurance, and possibly higher taxes for cap and trade and for his healthcare, but i guess its ok to lose some liberties by you obamabots. You all call Sarah names all you want while you lose your freedoms which makes YOU the idiots.I smell Jimmy Carter part 2.

I hear Pat Buchanan ordered several thousand copies. It will only take Palin a few of those (rich) ANGRY OLD WHITE MEN with a hard on to sell her book successfully.

It would really be funny if it weren't so sad. I strongly suggest her supporters actually look up the definition of the word "rogue". Somebody (be it Sarah herself or her writer) didn't bother to do it, which one can only hope means they had no idea what the word means. Otherwise, perhaps she really does want to be seen as untrustworthy, which is only one of the many negative definitions of the word. Should have stuck with Maverick.
