Poll: On Issues, Obama Approval Rating Lags

Only 44 percent approve of the president's handling of Afghanistan, down from 48 percent last month. (Fewer - 35 percent - disapprove of the president's handling on the issue.) The president is now trying to decide whether to follow the advice from General Stanley A. McChrystal, laid out in a leaked memo, to increase troop levels in the country if he wants to avoid failure.
Perceptions of the president's handling of health care, by contrast, have improved, though they are still below 50 percent. Forty-seven percent now say they approve of the president's handling of what has became his defining issue over the summer, up from 40 percent last month.
On the economy, one in two Americans approve of the president's performance. Forty percent disapprove. Mr. Obama fares far better than Congressional Republicans on the issue: Asked who has better ideas on the economy between the two, 53 percent cited the president while just 27 percent pointed to Republicans in Congress.
Fifty-six percent believe the president will eventually break his campaign promise not to raise taxes on households who earn less than $250,000 per year.

Though it remains high, Mr. Obama's overall approval rating has fallen from April, when 68 percent approved of the president's performance.
Despite his many recent television appearances, most Americans do not feel the president is overexposed. Fifty-eight percent believe he has made about the right number of appearances. (Click the link to read more.)
First Lady Michelle Obama receives generally positive ratings from the public, with 50 percent viewing her favorably and just seven percent viewing her unfavorably. An additional 41 percent are undecided or don't know.
While Michelle Obama's favorable rating has slipped from April 27th, when it hit 67 percent as the president celebrated his 100th day in office, it stands roughly where it has for most of the year.

This poll was conducted among a random sample of 1042 adults nationwide, interviewed by telephone September 19-23, 2009. Phone numbers were dialed from random digit dial samples of both standard land-line and cell phones. The error due to sampling for results based on the entire sample could be plus or minus three percentage points. The error for subgroups is higher.
This poll release conforms to the Standards of Disclosure of the National Council on Public Polls.

Now they say this was for "Black History Month" by why must we stoop to race. Should we not just promote Obama for all of his accomplishments?

Seems FOX wants to "circumvent or bend" copyright law and call it a "fair use argument, claiming that the video was for reporting purposes." You can argue that this isn't about schoolchildren and indoctrination, but the fact remains FOX wants something for nothing AND is willing to make an attempt to redefine copyright law to defend itself.
But back to your comments specifically - can you answer the question of why the parents of these children "only learned about this incident" because of FOX news? If they were truely involved and concerned about their child's education, why did it take them months and FOX news to find out what was going on in their child's school? Seems like this "story" should have broken by June or perhaps Feb(if their parents were truely involved in their child's education). By their own admission these parents indicated that their child did not mention anything at the time(in Feb or June), so did it have a lasting, "indoctrination" effect on their overall education? If so, why is the world are we hearing about it in Sept.? You and FOX news take one case, on one day and blow the story into "the great Obama push to indoctrinate our children". Surely if there have been other incidents in other schools, by now, this "sinister plot" should have unfolded into a much larger controversy by now...... Forget race, this is more FOX "attack, smear and go" approach to "fair and balanced" journalism with a touch of fact and a lot of fear-mongering....... They couldn't really make the propaganda thing stick when Obama addressed schools with his "study hard, do well in school message" earlier in the year, now it's this.
The real question you should be asking yourself now is who took this video and why did they hang on to it for at least 4 months? And if you already have these anwsers, why are you not sharing them with the rest of us? Some of the answer goes like this:

"The kids made up the songs on their own," she wrote, according to the YouTube user."
Who is Alteredbeat? How does FOX know him to be a reliable source? Why did Alteredbeat wait til Sept 6 to post it? And why did it take FOX news til Sept 24th to spread it? Hopefully FOX is digging in deeper to disclose the extent of this controversy.

The first part of your statement appears to be accurate i.e. the percentages, then you follow up with this ja-broner of a question? Like suggesting that the poll is not truely random and infer that there's something "sinister or evil" about how CBS conducted their poll by selecting people from only three states. Why not ask a direct question like, "Can CBS break down the statistics for all of the respondent's state of residence?" or "Was your poll completely random?"
Why don't you make your request simple, to the point - then allow the facts to form your judgement. You're show signs of classic FOX journalism and indoctrination...
