Elementary School Students Taught Pro-Obama Songs

A video showing elementary school students learning songs praising Barack Obama for his "great accomplishments" and efforts to "make this country's economy No. 1 again" is generating anger from conservatives today.

In the video at left, students at New Jersey's B. Bernice Young Elementary School are shown singing about the president, in one case to the tune of "Jesus Loves the Little Children," according to Fox News.

The video was posted at the conservative Drudge Report and reported by Fox, prompting hundreds of comments from readers such as this one: "These thugs need to be shut down! This is absurde [sic] that this is happening today in our schools. People need to rise up and crush this socializing and indoctrination of our kids."

The anger over the video is reminiscent of complaints over the president's speech to students on the importance of working hard and staying in school, which was initially accompanied by a lesson plan encouraging students to think about how they could help Mr. Obama.

Some conservatives objected to the president's address being shown to their children and it wasn't shown in some districts.

Update, 3:50 p.m. ET: Fox is reporting that Christopher M. Manno, the superintendent of Burlington Township School District, issued a statement to parents saying the students were singing the song "to honor the contributions of African Americans to our country" in conjunction with February's Black History Month.

He also wrote that the recording and distribution of the songs was not authorized by the district.

I think that any sort of political indoctrination should not be a part of the elementary classrooms.

It makes me sick to my stomach the way this country is heading. I can say for sure if my kindergartener is asked to sing this song, or if it is sang in his school it will be his last day at that school. How can anyone think it is okay to praise this man.

I think we should make a song asking Barry Soetoro for his birth and college records.

He has not proven to be eligible to hold office.

Obama was born in Kenya and attend college as a foreign exchange student from Indonesia. Prove me wrong Barry, please!

if he succeeds in this school thing on our precious kids, you can bet there will be a lot more runaways, and kids quitting school much sooner, so not only is he a blooming idiot, but very dangerous for this country and the world.

just saw online where obama and his advisor who used to work for chicago school system, now are going to try to make the nations kids go to school 3 more hours a day and maybe take away their summer vacation,maybe go to school all year(i say so they can brainwash them better and make sure their indoctrination sticks)..obama and advisor said that all other countries go to school longer hours and days than us. (and that is not true, some countries hardly go to school and especially in war torn countries) now if any of you parents are glad to see that you will be lucky to see your kids hardly any each day...goodmorning, goodnigt, that is all.....you better wake up and see that obama wants to destroy america and make it like all the others and where he spent his childhood and growing up years, he has not respect for america, its kids right, parents, citizens or anything else...he is bound determined to not only make adults hate him, he wants to destroy the kids motivation to learn too by holding them hostage in schools and giving up any time to be with friends or family, ...just produce,produce,produce for country and him, so he looks good. I really think i am beginning to abhor him and his gangsta ideas

This idea was proposed yrs. ago under who? I can't remember, but it never came to fruition. So it's not an original idea. I think I was in school at the time, so maybe 20-30 yrs ago. Does anyone remember this besides me? If you do, whose idea was it? Idea being "extend school hours or days because Japanese children are better in science and math", I think that was the statement used at the time when the idea of longer school came up yrs. ago...

since he did all those things, maybe he has got more connections to obamas background that are much more factual than all the phoney facts put out so we all believed the total fallacy of his consciense and moral makup...ya think....you know what they say, birds of a feather flock together..it is plain james manning has had a profound change of heart....evidently no so with Obama, since he even instilled corrupt people in his administration and has always had strong,strong, ties to the criminal acorn agencies

the singer Johnny Cash also spent time in prison, and turned his life around also. and in pastor mannings own words, he is a different person because of God in his life and woke up to the fact that white people are not to blame for the things he did wrong.

yes, it is true, and he is the one that said so,,,dozens of years ago, which is how he knows what the black people think so well....he turned his life totally around for what 40 years? ....and he has been totally honest,...gee, unlike obammy and all the people HE idolizes....and puts worse ones that this James Manning, who is fighting to preserve america, while the ones he puts in his cabinet are tax dodgers,communist, and other things that go against america and could not tell the truth if their life depended on it...gee, just like our lying president.

to all those sticking up for the people calling us rascist that are against obamas policies and lies, here is another viewpoint from an honest black minister that tells it like it is and there are many more that are not for obama,just because his skin is darker than ours, watch and see , if you think white people are full of hate...see what this black minister thinks of the usurping of our rights and using lies to get that power to do that.....youtube-a call to arms for white people.....type that and it should take you to Dr.James Manning,minister,on his views of the whole situation of obama and our countries problems...truer words were never spoken about some problems,

The Wikipedia entry on Manning is amusing.

Is it true Manning "spent about three and a half years in prison in New York and Florida for burglary, robbery, larceny, criminal possession of a weapon, and other charges before his release in 1978"?
