Joe Wilson's Wife: I Couldn't Believe He Said It

Roxanne Wilson, wife of South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson, says in a new video posted to YouTube that she couldn't believe her husband was "the nut" who shouted "You Lie!" during President Obama's address to a joint session of Congress last week.

In the video, which was produced by Wilson's campaign, Roxanne Wilson explains her husband's actions by saying he "is very passionate."

"I couldn't believe that Joe would say that," she says, after explaining how her husband informed her he was the responsible party. She goes on to note that people were passionate and upset in town hall meetings over the summer and that she thinks that was the source of the outburst.

"Joe apologized, and I'm real proud of him, and I'm very appreciative that the president accepted the apology," she says. "…My husband doesn't deserve the treatment he's getting from Congress."

House Democrats are today bringing to the floor a resolution of disapproval rebuking Wilson for breaking House rules with his outburst.

The rest of the campaign video, it should be noted, is more of a traditional testimonial. In it, gentle music plays and Roxanne Wilson says that she has had a longtime crush on her husband, who she met at "teenage Republican camp."

"He'll do fine," she concludes. "He's a great guy. And I love him a lot."

I think Joe got caught in a trap set by his stupidity. But then he is from the redneck, bigoted state of South Carolina.

Joe is not sorry. If he really was sincere he would apologize to the President, to members of congress, all citizens of the USA, and to the people of his state of South Carolina. That would be the honorable thing to do. Apologizing to the people of SC would be a waste of time but he should do it anyway.

I was born and raised in South Carolina and the truth is the rednecks bigots of this state have no idea of the meaning of honor.

That goes double of the state and national congressmen. Do you hear me Jim DeMint and Hugh Leatherman? Get to work on important issues and stop trying to get your party back in office with a lot of fear mongering and spreading lies.

As a final note ? please leave our SC governor Mark Stanford alone and let him do his job.
If you had listened to him long ago and stopped your irrational spending SC would not be in such a financial mess. The real reason you want him out of office is that he tried to curtail your spending.

The point is, Wilson disrespected not only the duly elected president of the United States, but also the office of the president, his - Joe Wilson's own office, the Congress of the United States and the American people as a whole. He definitely owes apologies all around - and then he ought to be sent off to a session at a 'charm school' like someone who 'disrespects' a traffic sign is sent to traffic school. The truth is better than a lie. Wlsin told the truth and Obama got caught. Of course he is going to tell the public no coverage for illegals. But believe me, the will be covered. Obama wants that vote from Hispanic citizen who will be upset if their illegal relatives are not insured. Joe's outburst will get him elected and Obama's ratings to fall.

Reagan passed a law 20 years ago that outlaws turning anyone in need, away from Emergency rooms. Where were your screams of protest then? The bill being promoted now does not give coverage to illegals.
