Obama Pushes Grassroots Support for Health Reform

In an effort to harness the grassroots support he has continued to cultivate while in office, President Obama today called on his backers to "step up once again" and help encourage support of his comprehensive health care reform.

The president sent an email to members of Organizing for America asking them to speak out in favor of reform while members of Congress are at home, away from the influence of lobbyists.

During the August recess, Organizing for America will be sponsoring multiple events focused on clearing up what the group considers the myths of the health reform debate. In the email, Mr. Obama asks each supporter to pledge to attend at least one of these events to "reach out to neighbors, show your support, and make certain your members of Congress know that you're counting on them to act."

"There are those who profit from the status quo, or see this debate as a political game, and they will stop at nothing to block reform," the president writes. "We've got to get out there, fight lies with truth, and set the record straight."

Although he admits that passing such reform will not be easy, Mr. Obama says that the "cost of inaction is simply too much for the people of this nation to bear."

"Our opponents will attack us every day for daring to try. It will require time, and hard work, and there will be days when we don't know if we have anything more to give. But there comes a moment when we all have to choose between doing what's easy, and doing what's right. This is one of those times," he writes.

Organizing for America also encourages supporters to take action in a video, seen above.

Nancy Pelosi Says Townhall Protestors Carry Swastikas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaC-uMzvKKM

You can't make this crap up. She and her fellow libs are unhinged to say the least.

First libs said that the town hall meetings were "orchestrated" protests .

Then libs said that the insurance companies were bussing people in to the townhall meetings.

Now, the town hall protestors are carrying swastikas, no less.

These people will stop at nothing to defame and attack average Americans. Noo proof yet again. Where's the actual proof, Pelosi, that people are carrying swastikas at these townhall events? Where's the list of names of actual insurance companies bussing people in to these townhall meetings?

Liberals lie like the day is long. They hate the average American. And they hate those who stand in their way to gain control over the lives of Americans.

BTW, if I am not mistaken, I think it was Huffpo that did not believe her when she said that she wasn't lying about not knowing about waterboarding being used.

I challenge all these polls that claim such tremendous support for Obama - and everything he has done.

One poll claimed 1000 random calls with +/- 2% error - I just want to know if he used Obama's personal friends list, or actually made 1000 calls to people - (I bet a pepsi, that no person made these phone calls).

I mean come on, guys/gals - Does Obamas propoganda machine has a town meeting, do they really believe that WE POOR CITIZENS don't realise that they stage the audience in his favor. That trick is as old as polls - you can get either to say/support what you want. Very sorry, if Non-Obama followers decided to play the same game.

Obama promised low cost, high quality, fully accessible health care paid for exclusively by cost savings. Instead Obama is headed towards a high cost, lower quality, accessible program funded by discriminatory taxes on those who will benefit least from it.

For Obama the only part that counts is the "accessible" part because he thinks that will translate into votes. Obama has brought about 30% less federal tax revenue with his socialist programs. We will see tax increases for the middle class despite Obama's empty promises.

Tautomer,

You hit the nail on the head.

Obama has broken more campiagn promises...

He has actually defended and expanded warrantless wiretapping when he said that he was vehemently opposed to it when running for president and said that he would end the practice.

No higher taxes on those making more than $250,000 per year? He is already beginning to signal that he will go back on that.

Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan has become Obama's Guantanamo.

An administration with no lobbyists or those who worked closely with lobbyists in his gov't? Obama went back on that. The Obama administration is chock full of ex-lobbyists and those who worked closely with lobbyists.

Obama said that his administration would be transparent. Bull. He has more than once stalled and delayed releasing info from his adminitsration and its fiscal policies when it would be damage him politically to be transparent.

Obama's naming of over 40 Czars is totally unconstitutional. He is purposely circumventing the Senate. His administration apparently came up with this plan when he was embarrased during the nominating process of turbo tax Tim Geithner and when Tom Daschle was exposed and Obama was embarrased by it.

I could go on and on.

Grassroots?

When libs organize, the Liberal Main Stream Media calls it grassroots, even if tax dollars go to the grassroots organization, though I don't know if this particular "grassroots" organization gets any fed funding. Some do.

When conservatives organize, the Liberal Main Stream Media calls it "astroturfing" and "orchestrated" even though no one is being paid to go to the town hall meetings, and even though there is no objective verifiable proof that people are being bussed in to the town hall meetings.

Most of these people are old people (the videos of these town hall meetings show them), yet Democrat Barabara Boxer has the gall to say that these protestors are too well dressed. Maybe she is used to seeing welfare bums at her rallies and at Democrat rallies to know how the average American actually dresses.

Libs, stop the denial. Stop telling yourself that real, average Americans would never reject ObamaCare. They have. Most have. Multiple polls show this.
