Palin Won't Appear at Reagan Library Event

(AP Photo )
Palin's spokeswoman attempted to clear the issue up in a posting on Palin's Facebook page last night.
"As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women's event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor's state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. "She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.
"All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor's name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.
Thank you.
Meghan Stapleton"

Finally "we" talk about Ms Palin - and stopped worrying who's a WHIMP or moron. And I could be wrong, but I believe johnbrown8888 knows how to spell Reagan, this was a tongue-in-cheek slip to "diss"track you... Glad to see you just corrected him(her?) and moved on.
Yes, Sarah is a private citizen now, but she still remains in the news and whether you or she likes it, she will be questioned about her motives for quiting her public position. And IF she plans on a public life in the future, she will be further questioned. Just as Bush was under a microscope about his "daze" in the Air Force reserves and Bill Clinton's affair or non-affair with the Arkansas mistress. There's been a lot of debate about private vs public life as it pertains to holding public office. You know what's ethically right or wrong, but I still believe what's good for the goose is good for the gander.........

Oh, and if Sarah has not "committed a crime that she can be prosecuted for or has done something or is about to do something that will affect out daily lives", then she has nothing to hide and should be willing to elaborate further about her reasons for leaving public office. Why wait for the moment to pass?
She can be questioned but that doesn't mean she'll answer and it doesn't mean that she has to answer either! You're just going to have to get over it! She's going to keep her reasons for quitting her job as governor private and she's not going to explain everything that she does! She doesn't have to now! So get over it!
"How would I know how she feels about anything? I'm not Sarah Palin! I'm just a supporter!"
It's fairly simple, just listen to what she says, then you decide whether or not you support her viewpoint. How can you support her, if you don't know what she stands for?
And I am not a democrat or republican - I like to listen to both sides of any issue and see how it effects me as an individual, you ARE "getting off the subject", and your comments to this regard ARE meaningless within the context of this article. Just as supporting Obama within the context of this article are meaningless. So if you insist on blabbing on about partisan politics (and I never said it wasn't your right to) then everything you've said is meanlingless, except for your last paragraph where you finally do talk about Sarah Palin and your thoughts about why she didn't accept the invitation - however the "it's none of your bee's wax", "she's allow to have a private life defense" of her is lame if she has any future plans for a public life after quitting in Alaska...
I'm still wondering what the quote from the article means when her representative says " The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time." Suppose "the other work and commitments" will be elaborated on at a future time? I can hardly wait.
I do listen to her and I agree with her about most things! I also know what she stands for on most things. I definitely agree with her on the abortion issue. I am pro-life and I don't believe that a woman should get an abortion under any circumstance.
I also agreed with her about the stimulus package. It is too expensive. Our decendants will be paying for it and the bailouts hundreds of years from now. I thought her decision not to sign the stimulus package was the intelligent and the right thing to do. I wish more governors and congressmen had made that decision!
Another thing that I agree with her about is oil and energy. I think the way that she has handled the oil companies in Alaska is exemplary. The governors of the other oil states, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana, should do the same!
I also think her decision to open the north slope and the Arctic to oil exploration was the right thing to do. Our country needs that oil!
I disagree with you about Sarah Palin not having a right to a private life if she plans to have a public life. Everyone has a right to a private life, even public figures and politicians! It is not necessary that we know every detail of their lives! They don't have to tell us every detail of their lives, or their reason for doing everything that they do either unless it's something that directly affects our lives! This isn't! Whether or not Sarah Palin attends this event won't affect our daily lives one bit! Some things are just plain NONE OF OUR BUSINESS!
Also Sarah is now a private citizen. Whatever she does now is none of our business! If she wants to tell her reason for not attending this event, that's fine! She's free to do so! If she doesn't, that's fine too! She is now not obligated to attend anything that she hasn't promised to attend either and she doesn't have to give an explanation!
She also doesn't have to tell us why she resigned as governor of Alaska unless she has committed a crime that she can be prosecuted for or has done something or is about to do something that will affect out daily lives! If she is about to do something that will affect us I expect she'll tell us eventually. Obviously, though, the reason is private and she wants to keep it private, at least for the moment. That is her right!
Yes, Sarah is a private citizen now, but she still remains in the news and whether you or she likes it, she will be questioned about her motives for quiting her public position. And IF she plans on a public life in the future, she will be further questioned. You're talking about Bush! And yes, I've seen Obama give many unscripted speeches. Give us all a break, whinner!
No, I'm not talking about Bush! I'm talking about Obama! Unless he has a teleprompter right in front of him he has no idea what to say! He doesn't write his own speeches and it is very clear that most of the time he doesn't read them before time to give the speech. He has no idea what is in his speeches until he reads them from the teleprompter!
Ok, and what DO YOU THINK Sarah Palin feels about this? My original point was this article discusses Ms Palin, not Obama, not N Korea and Iran or Clinton or Bush - Focus on the article not your "diss"trackers.
It might provide us all with some amount of incite into what's going on in California, Simi Valley and the RR Library and why she's too busy to attend.
How would I know how she feels about anything? I'm not Sarah Palin! I'm just a supporter!
Also you democrats do nothing but criticize Palin in these comment boards. We republicans have the right to do the same with Obama and his policies! You can say that I'm getting off the subject if you want to. If you don't like what I have to say then don't read my comments!
I also have no idea what's going on in California, the Simi valley, or the RR library. I don't live in California. Also the reason that Sarah Palin isn't going to attend this event is really no one's business but hers! In spite of what you might think she is allowed to have a private life! She didn't promise to attend this event anyway! She was only invited to attend, but she didn't accept the invitation! The reason that she didn't accept it is her business!
It's fairly simple, just listen to what she says, then you decide whether or not you support her viewpoint. How can you support her, if you don't know what she stands for?

Sarah Palin is the beacon of light that America needs to lead us from the darkness that Obama has casted over America.
I don't think we should follow her--something tells me we would be on the tracks and that light would be a train...
No one can follow Sarah--she won't show up--that's like falling off a cliff--in slow, motion. LOL
Explain to us how Obama is letting N Korea and Iran "walk all over us"! The bailouts started with BUSH! I don't care for them much myslef, but you know what....the republicans made them necessary! The GOP destroyed our economy! What do you people want!? Do you want the GOP to finish the job they started? As for calling someone a fool, I have no problem doing so. Bush, Palin the GOP in general are all FOOLS! And guess what, I have no fear of hell fire becaue I'm not a Christian! Imagine that, not all Americans are Christians..SHOCKER! Not all Americans want theocracy...SHOCKER AGAIN!

ladypirate2, correction...people woke up to the total incompetence of the GOP! That's why your party had such huge losses in November!
I am in complete agreement with what Southwestisbest said about Iran and North Korea and the stimulus package. IL-Dude is right about the bailouts, too. I couldn't have said it better myself. He is also right about the economy. Even though you democrats don't want to admit it, you are partly to blame for the economy being in the condition that it's in too! The problem with the economy has been coming on for years. You blame the Bush administration for it but I believe it started long before that, in the Clinton administration. IL-Dude is right about another thing, too. You democrats have had control of both the house and the senate since 2007 and then you have the nerve to blame the blame the Bush administration for the failing economy. The democrats have had two years to do something about it. Why haven't they? They had over a year to do something about the economy before the crisis hit. Why didn't they? It would have saved the United States trillions of dollars if the democrats in the senate and house had done something about the economy two years ago when they got control but they didn't! Still, though, you democrats blame us republicans and the Bush administration for the economy when you've had two years to do something about it!
It might provide us all with some amount of incite into what's going on in California, Simi Valley and the RR Library and why she's too busy to attend.
ladypirate2 , where did this silly teleprompter business start? All politicans of both parties use teleprompters including Palin! This just makes you people sound as silly as you really are,
Have you seen him try to give a speech without a teleprompter? I have! He just stands there with his mouth open and looks like a deer caught in headlights! Without a teleprompter showing him what to say, Obama is at a complete loss for words!
