Obama Monitoring Holocaust Museum Shooting

5078097White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said in his regular briefing today that President Obama is "saddened" by reports of a shooting at the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. and is monitoring the situation as it develops.

"Not too long before coming out here, probably about 1:55 or so, [I] had an opportunity to speak with the president about the shooting at the Holocaust Museum today, informed him of the situation, gave him the details that we had been given via the Situation Room," Gibbs said. "He asked about the condition of the security guard."

Asked about White House involvement in the situation, Gibbs said the White House is "in contact with and get updates from Homeland Security Council and other agencies like the FBI."

"I assume throughout the day we'll continue to get information about facts and what's happened at the museum," he added.

Guns are legal for personal protecting (if, applicable) and sport shooting. A gun can't expel a round by itself, it takes someone with the will to take aim and fire the weapon.

The Republican Party Media with their hate mongering and attack politics are playing with, as you can witness, loaded weapons.

The first comment, blaming Obama, is absolutely disgusting and shameful. Regarding this tragic event, should guns be so easy to get? How many lunatics with guns will it take before the NRA gets a clue. I'm not against hunting (although it hardly seems like a fair fight...) but better screening of wackos is needed before we hand them guns.

It appears that such crimes have skyrocketed since Obama took power; perhaps he should consider moderating his extremist policies !

Right Wing Extremist "Republicans" with guns, have struck again.

The lowest common denominator support group has recently been roused to the (false) threat that the new Presidential Administration will come into their homes and take away all their beloved Gunz!

This recent frenzy of bogus propaganda has lead to a buying spree of both legal and illegal firearms and, there is a current run on ammunition leading to spot shortages and limits on amounts available to be purchased by eager and paranoid Republican Gun Owners.

Right Wing Republican Conservative fear mongering, hate, and spurious propaganda has lead to acting out and killing by their gun obsessed supporters.
