RNC Video Equates Pelosi With Goldfinger Character

5033880The Republican National Committee released a video (see below) that draws a connection between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Pussy Galore, a character in the 1964 James Bond movie, "Goldfinger." The 1.38-second video deals with Pelosi's accusation from May 14 that the CIA and Bush administration misled her about waterboarding detainees, and attempts to equate the 69-year-old Congresswoman with the fictional Ms. Galore, who was part of the Goldfinger's evil gang intent on robbing Fort Knox of all its gold.

The RNC's tasteless video isn't going over well in the Beltway. Politico reports that Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) said that the video was offensive and not in the best interest of the Republican party:

"I thought it was reprehensible, irresponsible and unpersuasive. If we're going to regain the credibility of the American people, we're going to have to stop with silly antics like that. It may get a snide chuckle inside the Beltway, but it offends most people. We have to get away from the politics of personal destruction," Chaffetz said.

Don't expect the Democrats to respond with their own video equating the former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who has called for Pelosi's resignation, with Goldfinger. The irony in this tale is that in the course of the movie and book by Ian Fleming, Ms. Galore turns on her employer Goldfinger, aligns with Mr. Bond, alerts the CIA to the nefarious plot to rob Fort Knox.

Let me see who do you belive the CIA or Nancy.

The CIA gave us the bad information to attack Iraq right why now question them on that one.

So did they lie or did Bush lie. Take you pick but you only have one that could have lied.

The Democrats could do a lot better in finding another Speaker who doesn't think she is also the Secretary of State and needlessly insults other countries.

That said, the RNC is not doing their party any favors in putting out an offensive, sexist ad. The nitwits must be planning on being the minority party for a long time.

I live in West Virginia all my state officers are Democrats, my state senate chamber, & house chamber democrat majority big time! Both U.S. Senators are Democrats does the name Robert C. Byrd ring a bell? Dems control 2 of my 3 congressional seats. Plus, my governor is a dem! Funny thing, President Obama could not win West Virginia? If Al Gore had won in 2000 we would have been saying President Gore. Plus, they still would be counting votes in Florida. Dems have label them the party of NO, in the 2006 Congressional election,&last year. Now they got Speaker Pelosi saying No to why she feels the CIA mis led her. The bankrupcy reform act of 2005 help led to this recession. Both political parties would not touch the banks, or the real estate industry until now? The democrats have raise taxes on those who make $200,000 or less that will show once the economy improves. I paid $273.00 in state taxes last year to West Virginia. My Federal Taxes I was given a $280.00 earned income credit my wife,& I was refunded that.
Pelosi will cause a great deal of problems for the dems next year. Again, Stay tuned!

After watching the U-tube ad, I can understand why the GOP is losing support.

Perhaps they should focus on working with the Democrats to address the economic problems rather than playing games with cherry picking comments to invent a conflict.

The congressional campaign of 2010 will be interesting indeed.

Yes it will. There are two possible outcomes.

The first is another rout favoring the democrats if Obamas economic recovery starts eroding the unemployment and there is not a major terror attack on U.S. soil.

The second is GOP gains that narrow the majority in congress. However, this will depend on economic conditions staying static or worsening and if the GOP can get it act together by moving to the center.

Personally, I would speculate that the GOP is going to have an identity crisis since the far right still has control of the party, so more of the same is probably the 2010 result.

To the user that said Pelosi is a nitwit, TRUE SOMEWHAT? But the AD is effective they pulled it, but we are talking about it. Trust me the GOP was ready for this one. I am a PR major in college. Last fall they was not ready for Obama's grassroots ground game. McCain pick Palin as his VP pick ect. They was label the party of NO by Dems. Now the GOP is trying to label Pelosi as the Queen of NO meaning, she will keep saying NO I do not want to talk about how I feel the CIA misled me? Stay tuned! The congressional campaign of 2010 will be interesting indeed.

Pelosi & Dems cannot ignore the GOP! Clever they put it up & take it down. A few GOP House members come out & say how dare them do it? Call Mrs. Pelosi D.C. office & have a different view point, and you will understand her more. Over the years the military, & VA lies to congress not the CIA. Plus, during all these briefings back in you had George Tenant Clinton's pick for CIA at the helm. Now Obama pick had to call her out on the carpet?

Our ***** House Speaker will NOT stand behind her lies about her briefings!
When she said she will "stand behind" them it's like Clinton saying the quilty "will be brought to justice" of a terrorist attack. It means : "People! Just forget about it all! Just go back to watching Opra and sitcoms! Just... just... never mind! forget it even happened!"
These clowns are ***** alright, and the way they get away with it is poor and one-sided journalism.

That video is so lame it doesn't deserve a comment.
However, the CIA has a long track record of lying to Congress.
The RNC is going, going, gone...
