President Obama may not have made a decision yet on who will succeed Supreme Court Justice David Souter - but he may well be in the interview process.

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm dropped by the White House Tuesday to attend the president's announcement on upping fuel standards. She may or may not have had a private audience with President Obama to discuss the coming Supreme Court vacancy.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Monday that Granholm was coming to Washington for the fuel standards announcement and would not say whether President Obama had met with any potential nominees - but he seemed less willing to definitively deny any meetings yesterday that he had been previously.

"I -- I'm not going to get into discussions he might have had related to Supreme Court or other issues," Gibbs told the White House press corps.

Meanwhile, tells the Pueblo Chieftain she has been approached by the White House team regarding the Supreme Court nomination.

The White House is trying to keep a tight lid on the process, but there are indications that the president's choice could be announced as early as next week.
