DNC Ad Throws Roses At Obama's 100 Days

(AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)
The Democratic National Committee is readying a television ad trumpeting President Barack Obama's accomplishments as his first 100 days in office comes to a close.

The 60-second ad, titled "The First 100 Days: Laying A Foundation For Change," shifts between clips of campaign promises followed by video or Mr. Obama signing related legislation into law.

The president's economic recovery act is chief among the ad's highlights, along with the signings of the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Restoration Act, making it easier for women to sue for equal pay, and the State Children's Health Insurance Program.

The ad, which will air on national cable news networks Tuesday and Wednesday, closes with a look forward to Mr. Obama's "bold plan for the future."

Enough! I am almost ashamed to be a democrat. People ...... this is NOT AMERICAN IDOL. If you need someone/something to make you feel good about yourself durin' these pitiful economic times, GO TO CHURCH (that is what it's there for well ain't it?). I've heard nothin' but mild chatter about troop withdrawal from Iraq. The situation in Afghanistan is worsenin' by the day. We lent billions to corporations that were mismanaged (TARP), and continue to be mismanaged. And I've heard nothin' tangible about fixin' the mess that Bush left. Let's focus here, huh.

The 1st 100 days is a completely arbitrary measurement promoted by the media (left, right, and center) as a measure of a president's effectiveness.

No one can, or should judge a president's value to the nation until after his/her tenure has elapsed. This should not be confused with having a reasoned, logical opposition to the policies offered by the serving president.

As a marketing professional, I can say that there are elements of the commercial that I like. As a free thinking American, I will say that there is no reason for a president to promote his accomplishments (of course the DNC is pushing this not Obama), history will judge how well they served. As an political independant (former republican), I say that THIS president is making a sincere and thoughtful attempt to do the best job he can for this entire country.

The above poster is completely delusional and is in need of psychiatric help.

Sorry for the confusion. I was pointing out his massive failures and trying to do it with a little humor.

First, I'm not so sure I'd be running an ad extolling his first 100 days! It reminds me of what Latin American leaders like Castro and South American leaders like Juan Peron use to do!

If you want people to 'feel good' about his first 100 days, I don't think you want to associate him with leaders like that in the minds of the public!

Second, I don't think his 100 days has been that good! Certainly, nothing to brag about! It will make the Democrat party look conniving and partisan like the Republicans!

I wouldn't do it.

How well were we taught our history?

The "first 100 days" has been a benchmark used to look at a Presidency since.......?" Is it seeded in some offical or legal sence as a period of ones'Presidency?

Who was the first President under which the 100 days period took on importance?

Great ad, telling the truth about Obama's accomplishments to combat the Republicans who decry anything a Democrat does!
