Day 93: Obama Lauds Energy Plan On Earth Day

(AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)
"The nation that leads the world in creating new sources of clean energy will be the nation that leads the 21st century global economy," he said. "America can be that nation. America must be that nation."
Even as the president talked energy, however, the focus continued to be on the Bush-era enhanced interrogation memos and any possible prosecutions that could come from the revelations contained therein.
Sen. John McCain, Mr. Obama's former rival for the presidency, today called for no prosecutions, saying they would "have serious negative effects on the candor with which officials in any administration provide their best advice."
