Day 92: Obama Says Prosecution Of Bush Officials Possible

On his ninety-second day in office, President Obama left the door open for prosecutions of Bush administration officials who crafted the legal authority for the interrogations of terrorism suspects outlined in CIA memos released last week.

The president made the comments following a meeting with Jordan's King Abdullah at the White House; he said Abdullah "represents a modern approach to foreign policy-making in the Middle East." The president also stated that comments Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made yesterday at a United Nations are "appalling and objectionable."

In the afternoon, the president signed a bill tripling the size of the AmeriCorps program. He called it "the boldest expansion of opportunities to serve our communities and our country since the creation of AmeriCorps."
