Arianna Huffington, editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post, told Bob Schieffer on CBSNews.com's "Washington Unplugged" that she thinks highly of First Lady Michelle Obama's decisions to move her mother to the White House, create a vegetable garden and develop an "approachable" personal style.

"This is fantastic, an unqualified yes, there is nothing to complain about," Huffington said.

"Even if you don't terribly like that particular outfit," she said of Mrs. Obama's fashion sense, "you know it is what she loves and what she looks good in."

As for the first lady's protocol-breeching personal contact with the Queen in London, Huffington had this to say: "A little more touching among the royal family is not a bad thing." Schieffer agreed.

Take a look at the interview here:

Also, watch this interview in addition to Bob Schieffer's discussion on Obama's visit to Turkey with Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim elected to Congress, and The Washington Institute's Soner Cagaptay. The show also includes a story of some New Yorkers who have taken their support of Obama to a new level – with presidential tattoos.

It's funny how some "people", and I use the term loosely, simply love michelle obama, (lower case on purpose), and some detest her. I'm with the latter group.
She's the ugliest, most obnoxious, detestable, skank-pig I've ever seen in my entire life.
She litterly makes me about puke every time I see her, which, I might
add, is as little as possible.
Let's hope she never takes a laxative. How would she know when to stop. She'e end up a bag of skin.
When I was a young boy we had pigs on our farm and we would
call them the same way I suppose people call michelle....
SOOOOOOOOO-EEEEEEEEE
Mother used the old-time phrase, "ugly as homemade sin."
That's you, honey-child!
Where the sun "don't" shine !

UR_Majesty: You are so right about the Obama's sitting in a white hating anti-american church for 20 years and I still believe they are anti-american. Obama looks like he is more comfortable in foreign countries. After all, he is half Kenyan and was partly raised there and in Indonesia not Hawaii and It is believed he was not born there but this government is hiding it . They are afraid of riots if the truth came out. I will say that the Obama's have a solid marriage and it will stay that way plus their children being raised by her mother was a good decision. They both have high morals and you won't find him cheating on Michele with another woman in the white house. I favor Bill Clinton but he made one big mistake.

I wonder who paid for her college tuition. Obama's grandmother paid for his and he used some money for his drug and booze habit. There are many student's that work their way thru college and Harvard is just a name. It doesn't mean you are better educated than student's going to Loyola or Yale. Its what you do with your education. There are thousands of high school graduates that don't go to college because they don't want a career and that's what college is about.

Michele Obama's hips are too wide and her designer is no Georgia Armani or Ralph Lauren. She needs to do something with that hair. And Obama needs to wear different suits. I see him in the same black suit all the time. The presious president's wore different clothing all the time. The white dress that she wore was the only one that looked good on her. Plus now we have swings and a garden in the white house. It will look like the southside of Chicago soon.

I didn't like Michelle that much at first. But she's refreshing compared to the puppet moms of recent times. Some of her clothes are weird, but at least they're suited to her age and shape (i.e., the full skirts, which BTW I happen to like anyway). Weight is a relative concept. There are all kinds of shapes, both male and female. I love it when the President looks at his wife adoringly - watch carefully, you'll see it. Can you imagine McCain trying to stay awake at all these foreign events? He probably would be repeatedly saying, "Don't tax the rich. Don't tax the rich. Don't tax the rich. Don't tax the rich, etc. etc. And his Stepford heiress would be grinning ear to ear like the Barbie she is. I bet her heels are naturally in the high-heel position with her shoes off. Wasn't there once a doll named "Cindy"? Was she also in a $10,000 suit? Remember, no tax on the wealthy - only purchases like that can stimulate the economy.

Michelle is one ugly woman. If I saw her on the street i would give her a 3. Knowing she sat in Rev. Wrights white hating church for 20 years. I give her a ZERO.

If the status of a first lady is based upon her husband's popularity, score 1- If the status relies upon her natural grace and generosity, score 1 for Michele O.
Then if the acceptance of an ambassador of good will and representative of fine national intent depends upon higher intelligence, then please score 10 more points for the present first lady.

Did i forget to mention that she is apparently fit; were she to be so skinny as a fashion hound, she would be unhealthy and a poor example as a mother or role model to american women.
Grace is the art of purpose; Mrs Obama moves well. America is best serviced by its true personal successes than by its false advertisements.

Based on the fact that she graduated from Princeton (BA) and Harvard (JD). And she didn't get there on the strength of her family background. Georgie certainly didn't get accepted to his prestigious Ivy League school based on his test scores, but on his birth certificate.

Also, I have never believed that a woman's value should be measured by how pretty, how skinny, or how white she is.
