CBS News' Bob Schieffer will interview President Obama on Face the Nation This Sunday.

After a whirlwind month of selling his stimulus and budget plans and his announcement on Afghanistan Friday, the president leaves for a week in Europe for the G-20 Summit and NATO Summit on Tuesday.

"We're fortunate that the president has agreed to do an interview this Sunday," Bob Schieffer told CBSNews.com before giving some hints on his questioning.

"The economic crisis continues to dominate the news, but there are so many other issues which are getting less attention," he explained, noting Afghanistan and Iraq. "We'll ask the president to weigh in on those issues he has not discussed as much in addition to the economy."

Schieffer has interviewed every sitting president since Nixon and serves as the moderator of 'Face The Nation' and CBS' Chief Washington Correspondent. Check your local listings to find out when and where "Face the Nation" airs in your area Sunday morning.

I watched the interview with President Obama on Face the Nation this morning. I am extremely disappointed with his comments on Mexico.

Why doesn't he understand that we the U.S. have caused most of the problem.

He needs to stand up and have the strength to lead the U.S. out of this mess. Why is it so easy for common citizens to see what to do and our national leaders have no clue.

President Obama please do the right thing:
1. Get Congress to pass a permanent ban on selling all types of assault weapons.
2. Pass legislation that says people caught with an AK-47 will get a minimum of 3 years in Federal Prison.
3. Have a 90 day Federal amnesty -and buy back assault weapons for $1,000 a weapon.
4.. Make it a federal crime --min. 10 years in prison--for anyone who sells an assault weapon.
5. Send in the national guard and militarize our border in areas affected.
6. Start a national law enforcement task force to hunt down and arrest the Mexican drug cartels operating in U.S. cities.

This would be a start.
Then you need to legalize marijuana and take the profit away from the drug dealers. It should be controlled just like alcohol. We are never going to get control of the problem until we legalize it and regulate it. Did prohibition work??

Why can't we make bold decisions to correct these problems. Why can't the American government study the Netherlands? Drugs and prostitution are legal and they do not have a crime problem. Take away the profit from the drug dealers and the pimps and ban assault weapons and are national crime rate will decrease at such a rate it will shock everyone. Free the police agency's to focus on REAL crime.

THE PRESIDENT AND CONGRESS NEEDS TO STOP DOING THE SAME OLD THING---IT'S NOT WORKING!!!

Let's demand that members of Congress reinstate the ban on assault weapons and deal head-on with the crisis in Mexico.

Obama is a very smart man, and is manipulating the news, not the other way around. What he is doing is really no different than what Ronald Reagan did.

The media which propped up Obama during t he campaign to make sure he'd win are still in the tank over him and continue their lovesick cow-eyed sputum and drool blind support. Schieffer is no different. He probably has to keep selling his programs by repeating himself since many of his young supporters need to have everything repeated to them numerous times just in order to begin scratching the surface in trying to understand what he's trying to say and do, especially since they've been too distracted with themselves to have been paying attention to the political process.

The President is a leader being very visable and vocal. This is something a few of you don't quite understand since the last President sat on his hands for the last eight years and did nothing...

Good. He needs to stay out there explaining things because we are in such a difficult time right now. It really helps with the public's confidence level when he stays out in the publci eye telling us what is being done. Also, he absolutely can't let the low-brow media try to explain what he is doing. They are so clearly trying to create controversy with no regard for what is good for this country. Cut right through their baloney Mr. President.

AGAIN?! I've heard that speech of his doublespeak that he's going to give to the point that I can recite it along with him and I don't even need a teleprompter. Give me my measly $13 and shut up already.

I thought we pay taxes for the survival and the protection of the American citizen. It seems as though some people just don't care about their fellow citizens. They rather see a few million citizens living in the streets then to help them.

I am glad we have a President who is bringing the political process to the people.I also pleased that He sees through the finiancial crisis created by those who want to impoverish others in the name of capitalism and free market.Iam also glad to see how few people are embracing the fail and doom day policies of the cheap talkers. These people still cant see that their LEADERSHIP failed .They need to accept the present global reality.I know its hurts ,and its much easier to focus on tomorrow .GET YOUR HEAD OUT THE CRYSTALBALL ,GIVE YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY SOME HOPE.
