Day 57: President Obama's Schedule
President Obama will be celebrating St. Patrick's Day on this, his fifty-seventh day in office.
In the late morning, President Obama and Vice President Biden will meet with the Taoiseach of Ireland Brian Cowen in the Oval Office. Following the meeting, the president, the vice president and the Taoiseach will attend a Shamrock Ceremony in the White House.
Mr. Obama will also meet with Northern Ireland First Minister Peter Robinson and Northern Ireland Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.
In the afternoon, the president will travel to the Capitol to deliver remarks at Speaker Pelosi's St. Patrick's Day Lunch.
In the evening, the president will deliver remarks at St. Patrick's Day Receptions held in the East Room and the State Dining Room. The First Lady, Vice President Biden, Dr. Jill Biden, and Taoiseach Cowen will also attend.
Mr. Obama will also meet this morning with Senate Budget Committee Chairman Conrad and House Budget Committee Chairman Spratt to discuss the budget. He has a meeting with Secretary of Defense Gates in the Oval Office in the afternoon.
