Biden To Governors: "Call Me"

Vice President Joe Biden today opened a White House conference for state officials on how they can best secure and use stimulus bill funds.

CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller reports that the vice president said he and President Obama will release regulations tomorrow to further restrict how stimulus money is spent.

"All that is legal is not acceptable," Biden said. "Let me say it again: just because it may be legal, it is not acceptable – some of it. For example, you're gonna see regulations announced on Friday by the president…about things you'd ordinarily be able to spend federal money on, but we are not going to let you spend federal money on. I suspect most of you would not want to do it anyway. A little hint: no swimming pools in this money."

Biden also said that states must be smart in their use of the stimulus funds or risk never again receiving similar aid from Congress.

"If we don't get this right folks, this is the end of the opportunity to convince the Congress that anything should go to the states," he said, according to a pool report.

The vice president also told attendees that "the Great Depression was worse but it was not as complicated" as the current financial crisis.

Biden was introduced this morning by Energy Secretary Steven Chu, who called him "both the watchdog and the bulldog." The vice president said he would make himself directly available to governors who are having problems in dealing with the money.

"Tell your governors – literally – if they have a problem, if they're confused, if you're confused about what needs to be done – literally – pick up the phone and call me," he said. "Call me."

"I'm used to being accessible," he added. "I really mean it. Have your governors call me and we'll get it straightened out – 'cause we got to get it right."

Obama chose Biden because he didn't want someone smarter than himself especially Hillary. It would show how dumb he really is and the American public would then know how dumb they were for voting him in office. I could read Obama like a book without the cover. I knew he had the public duped by his copied speech from RFK of hope and change. A community organizer he was not he was busy getting the people to know him because he was going to run for the senate. He didn't care to help those people. Obama was for himself. He became acquainted with Ayers at that time who donated to his campaign and had dinner with him several times. Obama lost to Bobby Rush former leader of the Black Panther party. Obama knows all the underhanded corrupt people that's how he became a slick tricker and he knows how to trick people into believing him.

I believe Obama didn't choose HIllary for VP because she would outshine him in all politics and foreign policy. In fact, she is traveling around Europe meeting with the big wigs and he is just walking and talking about nothing but spending the taxpayers money by passing stimulus bills so the millionaire companies will still stay in business. How about the average income family and the poor on SSI. Instead of giving to those companies who can't balance their own books he needs to think about giving another check to the poor and average worker who don't have millions of dollars to spend. He can issue all of us a check for $1000 each as we deserve it. The CEO's gave themselves a big bonus from the stimulus money and Obama should have asked for the bonus money back. Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Durbin, Dean should never have been in power. This is the worst underhanded corrupt democratic party in American history.

That's why she didn't want Hillary as the nominee and made deals with the superdelegates to vote Obama. Pelosi likes power like Obama who wanted to become president for revenge of slavery. Another warning to the U.S. Congress. This time remember it isn't just the South that will rise. This time the National Guard and Military across all the United States have a 50 / 50 chance of supporting their State and not the Federal Government. Remember Congress you get our money by our free will, not your right! You Congress seem to have forgotten that. You were sent to Washington to represent your constituents, not the Federal Government. The IRS is under the Federal Reserve Bank which is not a branch of the United States Government. Federal Taxes are received by the constituent's good will to support our constitutional democratic government. I did not agree nor did I give you Congress the right to own my tax dollars. Get ready Governors, you just might call a screeching halt to deductions for the Federal Government and have employers change that deduction for direct deposit into your State Bank Accounts. Actually I think that would be a better idea right now and you might be surprised to see your State coffers start to bulge. Your State may no longer be in debt crisis. Do any of you Governors know how much money of your State residents are spent by Washington and for what? 934 billion dollars are spent on lobbyist controlled foreign aid. Do you know how much is spent to spy on Americans? It is in the trillions. Do you know how much is spent on Federal Government earmarks, luxury trips, corruption, and graft? Good Lord, I feel like singing "Dixie"! Wake up Governors, you may be called to do battle to save your State by taking back your constituents money.

This is an outright challenge of Federal control controlling State Control. The Civil War revisited. God, your group really think you are Lincoln reincarnated. I agree with a previous blogger. I'll gladly start paying my State income tax and no longer pay Federal Tax. I don't think those jokers in Washington have the clue how to spend tax dollars other than to line their own pockets with it, while States are much stricter with spending funds and budgets. If Congress takes money away from the States I think it is time again for a Civil War. I will pay State Tax, I will not pay Federal Tax. Get ready Governors to do battle once again.
