Day 46: Obama Lauds Ohio Recruits, Prepares Move On Stem Cells
4848244On his forty-sixth day in office, President Obama spoke at a graduation ceremony for police recruits in Columbus, Ohio whose jobs were saved by the economic stimulus package Mr. Obama signed into law last month.
"I look at these young men and women, I look into their eyes and I see their badges today and I know we did the right thing," the president said.
News also broke today that the president will move to reverse former President Bush's ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cell research.
During the campaign, Mr. Obama said he believed "the restrictions that President Bush has placed on funding of human embryonic stem cell research have handcuffed our scientists and hindered our ability to compete with other nations."
