Date Set For Obama's First Address To Congress

The date was confirmed by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs while en route with the president to a town hall meeting in Fort Myers, FL this morning. The president plans to continue to push his Economic Reinvestment and Recovery Package at the meeting.
The congressional leaders extended the invitation earlier this morning at the White House, Gibbs said.
The press secretary also said that the president enjoyed last night's primetime press conference and that he will plan to hold them regularly, reports CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller. In fact, President Obama ventured to the press area of Air Force One for the second time in two days.
Asked who was the target audience for his stimulus package sales pitch, the president said, "if you took a look at the Gallup poll yesterday, the American people don't need convincing."
"We just want to shine a spotlight on how severe this downturn is all across the country and to make sure that members of Congress understand the sense of urgency that I feel, " he explained.
