Obama Calls for Daily Economic Briefings

(CBS)
"The president asked that this be added every day to his schedule," Gibbs said. President Obama feels it is "important that each day he receive the most up to date information as it relates to the economy," he added.
Mr. Gibbs said that this briefing will be treated with the same "professionalism" as the daily intelligence briefing. These meetings will be led by NEC Director Larry Summers. Today's briefing was attended by President Obama, Vice President Biden, Chief of Staff Emanuel, budget director Peter Orzag, Director of Domestic Policy Council Melanie Barnes and economic advisor Jared Bernstein.
