Holder's Confirmation Held Up In Senate Judiciary Committee

The Senate Judiciary Committee is holding up the confirmation of Eric Holder as attorney general for a week at the request of committee Republicans.

The committee was originally scheduled to vote on Holder's nomination today.

Republicans asked that it be held while they learn more about Holder's views on interrogation techniques and possible prosecutions of U.S. personnel, according to Politico.

But, CNN is reporting that the delay is more about Holder's role in the controversial pardon of Marc Rich.

why do they want to hold it up, they approved Gonzales pretty quick. Sen. Cornyn of Texas wanted to hold up Secretary of State confirmation blamed Bill Clinton''s foundation, where was he when Cheney''s Haliburton was handed a contract in Iraq, that certainly was conflict of interest
