Bush's "Family Reunion At 30,000 Feet"

When President Bush flew home today to Midland, Texas, with him was CBS News analyst and former counselor to the president Dan Bartlett.

CBS News anchor Katie Couric asked him if it was a bittersweet voyage for the president.

"It was a lot more sweet than bitter, Katie," Bartlett said. "It was like a family reunion at 30,000 feet."

"The president was in great spirits. He walked around to every single person who was on the plane and spent individual time with each of them," he said.

Later in the flight, according to Bartlett, a video-slash-slide show played – sort of an overview of the past eight years. Oh, all the memories!

"There was a lot of emotion, but it was very joyous," Bartlett said. "A good time."

How will the former president handle life after The Oval Office?

"Well, he was laughing saying … oh, I'm just an old guy they kicked to the curb ," Bartlett said. But really, "he focused a lot about working on his book."

Couric reminded Bartlett that he'd told her he'd need to get an unlisted phone number, because the president will have a lot of free time on his hands.

"We're all fearing that," Bartlett laughed.

Maybe, but why would you want to see Obama fail? Give him a chance.

I couldn''t bring myself to copy the parts of your post that represent a giant dose of misplaced hero-worship.

Bush could''ve sacrificed babies on the oval office desk and you''d still look the other way and dream of happy days. How pathetic.

Your hero is a murderer.

Thank God this liar-in-chief is out.

Now let us begin picking up the pieces after the disaster known as the Bush presidency,

also known as 8 years of hell to those of us who managed to live through it.

Let the war crime trials begin!

The terrorist attacks happened on Bush''''s watch, he was warned by the Clinton administration and Bush and his administration ignored it. They were too busy getting this country into debt by spending and dictating to us. Bush is so ignorant he doesn''t even know that he and his administration were terrible at managing the U.S. An embarrassement to the constitution and vows he took.

Ding Dong old Bush is gone
the wicked Bush
the evil Bush
Ding Dong the wicked Bush is gone

May this country now start a recovery process with someone intelligent, regardless of his race or color.
