Burris Likely To Be Sworn Into Senate Thursday

(CBS)
Organizers are now trying to coordinate the schedules of all involved – Burris, his family, Vice President Cheney (who will do the swearing in), and others.
A formal announcement could come later today.
Senate Democrats had previously vowed not to seat an appointee of impeached Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who has been charged with attempting to effectively sell the Senate seat vacated by President-elect Barack Obama. Blagojevich appointed Burris anyway, and the former Illinois attorney general was turned away in his attempt to be sworn into the Senate last week.
After Burris' lawyers delivered documentation certifying Burris' appointment Monday, however, Senate majority leader Harry Reid and Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin agreed to seat him.
