Obama Donors Released (Monthly)
The Obama transition office announced today that they would be releasing the names of their donors on a monthly basis. Since December 15, 2008, the team has raised $3,803,222.48 dollars from a total of 53,853 donors, the report shows. The average donation is $70.62 dollars.
The move is "in keeping with President-elect Obama's pledge to run the most open and transparent transition in history," a release from the Obama-Biden transition office read.
The office reminded reporters that they only accept from individuals' personal funds with a $5,000 dollar limit and "refuse all donations from corporations, labor unions and PACs" as well as "contributions from registered federal lobbyists and registered foreign agents."
