McCain: Blagojevich Both Stupid AND Nuts

Former Republican presidential nominee John McCain appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman last night, where the topic turned, perhaps inevitably, to Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

"He came to my office one time after he was elected governor, at his request, and told me he was going to be a great reformer," McCain said, laughing. "I'm not making it up! That he wanted to do like I had done in the Senate and have all these reforms. I really must have impressed the guy."

After Letterman asked if Blagojevich was either "stupid," or "nuts," McCain responded: "I think a rare combination of both."

And when Letterman asked about how his life had changed since the end of the presidential campaign, McCain made what appeared to be a reference to the affidavit outlining the charges against the Illinois governor, which featured transcripts of taped phone conversations in which Blagojevich uttered a number of expletives.

"I don't want to talk about the bleeping campaign, understand," McCain said, adopting a joking, faux-angry tone. "If you think I'm going to go back to that bleeping situation – then bleep you."

Responded Letterman: "Woah."

Sounds like McCain must like this guy. Didn''t call him a celebrity or an elitist, or a terrorist, or a socialist or even a communist. Well, at least he is sticking with the SOP of the republican party and calling names.

I have to agree with McCain on this one. On the other hand, he''s also been known to use some pretty bleeping foul language. lol

I''d rather have a comedian than a guy with a list of crooks as long as his arms.
