Will Obama's foreign policy wins cancel out economy losses?

CBS News political analyst John Dickerson was joined by the New York Times' Michael Shear, Politico's Roger Simon, and USA Today's Susan Page for a discussion on whether President Obama's foreign policy victories will propel his re-election campaign or if the economy has taken too much of a toll.

Watch the full discussion at left including the roundtable's take on Florida's early primary date and the impact Gov. Chris Christie has on the Republican presidential field.

I think that the president's ( and any president's) , overall job performance , should factor in to a voter's decision as to whether or not they should be reelected, and not just one or two issues.I think that more weight will be given to the economy's condition in the upcoming election, because it's the most pressing issue this time around; but we can't dismiss the foreign policy aspect because we live in a dangerous world, with serious problems that potentially threaten us, daily.Whoever is president has to find the right balance between diplomacy and military action. I think that President Obama has demonstrated a toughness when necessary, and restraint when necessary. His low-key, analytical style that many have criticized him for , has served him well in making the right judgment calls on foreign matters, time after time, as in this case.

President Obama's foreign policy victories?

Killing bin laden and awlaki are not foreign policy. Obama is a complete disaster on both the economy and the world. The CIA and the military killed bin laden and awlaki, all Barry did was sit around and worry about it.

what foreign wins? escalating wars? involving the U.S. in Libya? shooting missiles at terrorists? It doesn't matter, how goes the economy, so goes the election.

Twenty percent of folks un or underemployed, people losing their homes almost as fast as last year, the poverty rate higher than is has been in years, we have an anti business administration, we have millions of folks who aren't even counted anymore on the unemployment numbers who have just given up looking for work,we have more young folks who now have to live with their parents, we have 45 million folks on food stamps, so why would folks think about the economy when they vote in 2012.

Thousands of screen names will no doubt lead to the destruction of America, indi!
You are such a stitch

How weird that each posting name uses the "indi" thing.

I wonder if this is the same hypocrite that goes around complaining about multiple screen names?

Never change my name, indi. I'm not 1)insecure, 2) attention seeking,3) bored
Give it up.

Not saying you changed your name, just logging in under different emails and ID's. Deny it.

The killing of two terrorists does not make for a winning foreign policy. I am glad that Bin Laden of gone, but President Obama is not respected around the world. He does not have a winning foreign policy.
