Having been born, raised, educated in Texas; and worked for the Texas House of Representatives&let me assure you that the office of Governor in Texas has little to no power at all in Texas government nor the economy of the state. Like George Bush and even Ann Richards...Perry is simply a colorful figurehead...and occasionally makes a nice cover story for Texas Monthly.
and elsewhere continue getting Federal Oil Subsidies. Thats why the Texas economy is doing very good.
